Renowned Legal Practitioner, Barrr. Desmond Orisewezie has received an award of honour from the Ika Got Talent Industry.
Presenting the Young Achiever award to the recipient, the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Talent Development, Mr. Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole said the Award of Honour was in recognition of Barr. Desmomd’s profound contributions as a young and enterprising son of Ika Nation holding National and International Honours as a confirmed Legal Practitioner.
The SSA to the Governor on Talent Development, described the Umunede born lawyer as his good friend, who has made a name for himself in the Ika ethnicity, and the state at large..
He said the awardee was widely admired for his intellectual brilliance, legal expertise, social capital and has a very large public followership, hence the honour given to him.
Receiving the award on behalff of the London based lawyer, Comr Chiedu Ikechukwu the Media Assistant to the immediate past Governor of Delta State,said it would spur Barr. Desmond to attain more height in his career and endeavours.
He thanked the Organizers and the people of Ika Nation for finding him worthy of such award and honour.
Barr. Desmond Orisewezie sterling personality had caught the attention of Mr. Olumide Akpata, then President of the Nigerian Bar Association, who appointed him in 2020 as the youngest member of the NBA National Human Rights Committee, chaired by Professor Mike Ozekhome SAN.
In this position, Desmond played a pivotal role in monitoring human rights infractions, contributing to legislative enactments, and engaging with government, law enforcement agencies, NGOs, and civil society.
