Members of the Obidient Movement have been assured of the possibility of a new Nigeria in 2027.

The Keynote speaker of the All Obidient Movement Conference 2024, Prof. Chris Nwaokobia gave the assurance during the All Obidient Movement Conference 2024 organized by the Delta Obidient Elders’ Council in Asaba, with the theme “reawakening and harmonising the Obidient Movement for a New Nigeria”.

He said with the current insecurity, hunger, corruption, and all sorts of vices that have bedevilled the country, the masses has no choice but to work towards recovering their stolen mandate by the present ruling party.

Nwakobia with the emergence of the Obidient Movement which took the existing political parties and the political class in Nigeria unawares, and what started like a child’s play metamorphosing into an overwhelming reality, Nigeria can still get it right again in 2027.

He urged them not be discouraged but to strategize against 2027 and that with one mind, one spirit, and one voice, the emergence of a New Nigeria will be a reality in 2027.

Speaking the state Protem Chairman of Delta OBIdient Elders Council, Chief Chris Biose commended all gallant Obidients in Delta State for the wonderful feat.

Biose said it was time for them to prepare to re-enact the magic of February 25, 2023 with greater intensity and finalty, he urged all Obidient support group to work as a team for the achievement of the objective they were rudely and crudely denied of in February, 2023.

He said as elders, they will solidify commitment to ideal of the movement and reconcile varying approaches to achieve the same objective.

In his address, the Chairman of occasion, Apostle David Ajeh encouraged the Obidients and stated that all they need was oneness and solidarity because “devided we fall but united we stand. He said that the Obidients, standing firmly in unity with one mind and one spirit, that a new Nigeria will evolve in 2027.

On her part, the state Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Amb. Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Nkem Onyema highlighted the journey so far, and she encouraged the Obidients that a New Nigeria is possible.

In his keynote address, Prof. Chris Nwaokobia. said that the emergence of the Obidient Movement took the existing political parties and the political class in Nigeria unawares, and that what started like a child’s play metamorphosed into an overwhelming reality.

Nwakobia while congratulating them for their courage, forthrightness and zeal so far, said that everyone who witnessed the 2023 election knew that Peter Obi won the election and that his mandate was only stolen by the present ruling party, however they should not be discouraged but to strategize against 2027 and that with one mind, one spirit, and one voice, the emergence of a New Nigeria will be a reality in 2027.

He noted that the present government of APC was wallowing in utter confusion, lack of vision, and mediocrity.

He encouraged the Obidients that there is the hope of a New Nigeria: the hope of transformation of the country from consumption to production, the hope of total liberation from insecurity, hunger, corruption, and all sorts of vices that have bedevilled the country. He then urged the Obidients to be courageous and go out to recruit the disillusioned armies of Nigerians that are devastated and encourage them with a positive mindset of hope against 2027.

Also speaking was the Delta North 2023 Senate aspirant under the platform of Labour Party. Barr. Ken Kanma, who encouraged participants of a new Nigeria.

The event featured online presentations by eminent Obidients, Prof. Pat Utomi and Diokpa Delly Ajufo who spoke eloquently on the importance of good governance and progressive administration, which were seriously lacking in the present government; questions and answers session with salient issues which were raised, followed by goodwill messages and word of encouragement.
