…Reaffirms NYA’s commitment to forging continental alliances for a united and prosperous Africa
The President of the National Youth Alliance (NYA), Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has emphasized that Africa’s sustainable development and global relevance depend on harnessing the collective strength of its youth.
He made this submission during a high-level courtesy visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, His Excellency Hon. Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, on Saturday in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to the NYA President, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, dated Sunday, August 24, 2025.
“Africa’s progress depends on the collective strength of its youth and the active inclusion of women in governance, policy-making, and economic transformation,” Amb. Abbas stated.
He reiterated NYA’s firm commitment to forging continental alliances and partnerships that will accelerate the realization of a united, peaceful, and prosperous Africa.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, underscored the urgent need for youth-centered bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Burkina Faso, with a focus on:
• Youth empowerment and leadership development
• Women’s participation in governance
• Education and innovation
• Peacebuilding and regional stability
• People-to-people diplomacy
Both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to promote Pan-Africanism, stressing that Africa’s rebirth must be championed by young people and women, who represent the continent’s greatest assets.
The Youth President’s visit marks a historic step towards consolidating African solidarity and reawakening the spirit of Pan-Africanism, with young leaders positioned as the driving force of Africa’s transformation.
