The Majority leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Engr. Emeka Nwaobi has charged female Journalists in the state to be unbiased in thier reportage.
Nwaobi gave the charge when he received members of the association at his office in Asaba.
He urged them to be objective in thier reportage by always balancing thier reports with possibly with facts.
While commending their efforts towards protecting the girl child in the society, the lawmaker promised to partner with thier upcoming malaria eradication project in Aniocha North Local Government.
He added that he would ensure that thier set goals are achieved for the betterment of the state and that they succeed in their plans, as supporting the girl child was one of his many philantrphic vision, which has help secure them from abuse and intimidations.
While frowning at the rate in which some Journalists disseminate information to the publics, he enoouraged them to be apply professionalism in the discharge of thier duty.
Earlier the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo commended the lawmaker for finding, the immediate past Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Mr Patrick Ochei worthy of service, as his Principal Secretary.
Unobunjo appealed for his partnership in the Association”s programmes, adding that his qualitative represtation of his people and support towards improving the lives of persons in the society speak volume hence the need to collaborate with him in achieving their goals.
