…Youth Commissioner Sets Up Committee To Compile List Of Delta Youths
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Agbateyimiro Isaac Weyinmi has set up a committee to draft out youth bodies in the state.
Agbateyimiro said the committee that was to be headed by the Director of Youth Mobilization and Leadership, Barr. Dioru Sheho, would help get a template of youths in the state and ensure that they were drafted into the activities of government,
Speaking while addressing staff of the ministry on assumption to his office in Asaba, the state capital, he said his tenure as Commissioner would be an all youth inclusive business, and to ensure that the dividend of democracy was not sectionalise, when empowerment starts.
While commending the past commissioners for their support towards the development of youths in the state, he called for their collaboration in delivering on the M.O.R.E agenda of the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
He said though the task of managing youths was challenging, however it was still surmountable with their support.
The Commissioner said as an ambassador of the M.O.R.E agenda of the state governor, he would ensure that all activities in the ministry would be an all youth inclusive business.
He assured Deltans of reaching out to all the youths in the state, while strategising and considering the critical demography of youths in the state so as to win as a ministry.
He said that they would fight crime amongst youths and ensure it is brought to zero level.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Ms Ngozi Mogbolu said with the agenda set by the Commissioner, they would take the ministry to the next level.
The Commissioner while on another visit to the National Youth Service Corp Orientation camp on Iselle uku assured the state coordinator of NYSC of government intervention to their needs at the camp.
Highlight of the visit was inspection of the camp facilities and hostels.
