In a bid to create a cleanliness culture and consciousness in the minds of all Deltans, the state government would today commence a house to house campaign in the state capital.
The Director General, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah disclosed this yesterday during a press briefing with Journalists, at his office in Asaba.
He said the campaign which will run for 21 days would be followed with a road show after which would be the establishment of a mobile court to ensure the enforcement of the policy, adding that the agency would kick start the campaign with the clearing of drainages in capital territory.
While speaking on “clean and green Delta State Capital Territory campaign”, the DG appealed to residence to show enthusiasm towards having a clean and secure state capital and also advised residents who uses the setbacks by constructing illegal structures to remove them as the Agency will work toward ensuring waste management affordability and availability in all areas of the state capital.
Ukah also revealed that sanitation workers have been employed in the state to help ensure that cleanliness is maintained in the state, adding that the agency in collaborating with the ministry of environment would not relent on achieving a cleaner Delta State.
He assured Deltans of security of life and properties, adding that that agency was interfacing with the security council of the state, the Director General of the State Security Services, stakeholders and traditional rulers in the communities to pull their support in ensuring that residence are safe.
Speaking on infrastructural development, he said the state government has awarded lot of contracts and also instructed engineers to immediately commence work on sites.
