..We Say No To Divide and Rule System,Politicians Must Match Words With Actions
Ahead of the Bayelsa State Governorship election,National Leader of Ogbia Freedom Fighters,OFF, Alhaji Awo Harmony has told the youths not to fall for the antics of politicians with their sugar coated tongue,who will fail to achieve their promises after assuming office .
OFF National Leader, Alhaji Alhaji Awo Harmony who stated this while addressing hundreds of youths at Ogbia, said they should be retrospective in their thinking as politicians hardly fulfill their electoral promises to the people.
“Since the return of democracy in 1999,if all the electoral promises made by politicians were fulfilled, Ogbia would have been like Dubai,we should be very mindful not to fall prey to their antics,enough of the divide and rule system”.
“We will not fall for their tricky politics,God has blessed us with abundant natural and human resources,but it is unfortunate that up till this time of our nation’s polity,the political class who are always looking for power have not been bold enough to harness these potentials for our common good”.
“They remember us only during elections, make fake and ambiguous promises and forget us after swearing in,only to return in another election year to make silly excuses,we are wiser now and will not bend for them”, Awo added.
“We should not allow politicians to define our life and define our collective destiny,we must be focused and set an achievable timeline for our people,we are the youths who will stand to defend our people from those who do not mean well for us”.
According to him., “when last did they visit us,what plans do they have for Ogbia Community,as youths we should not think of today alone but look at the future of our people and do the needful, enough of empty promises “.
“I feel the pains of our people, they always use the youths to cause crisis, disaffection,we must not allow this to continue,we must be united than ever before to forge a common front for Ogbia nation,we must resist them,we don’t have any other place than Ogbia”.
