The Delta State Local Government Service Commission Chairman, Hon. Dcn Joseph Otirhue has advised staff of the Unified Local Government Service to always be ready to take up their duties.

The Chairman gave the advice during the January series promotion interview organised by the Commission for qualified staff of the Service.

He added that, preparedness for one’s duties shows commitment to the job.

While frowning at the lackadaisical attitude of some staff towards laid down rules, Otirhue enjoined all staff to brace up for the new year’s service as truancy will not be tolerated in the system.

Furthermore, Otirhue said the Commission will continue to live up to expectation by carrying out her duties as well as conducting promotion interviews as at when due.

The promotion interview which was scheduled for six working days, had over a thousand and forty-eight staff for the promotion exercise while over eighty-seven staff were earmarked for inter-cadre transfer.

During the exercise, staff without the required credentials were denied promotion.
