Commissioner, Girl- Child Enterprenuership Development, Hon. Nkechi Chukwurah has vowed to give hope to every Girl- Child in the state.
Chukwurah made the vow while speaking with pressmen shortly after her inauguration as Pioneer Commissioner of the Ministry, in Asaba, Delta State.
She said it was time for the Child to have their place in the society and not be seen as a liability as misconcepted in the ancient days.
Chukwurah said it was pertinent to help them develop their skills and empower them, adding that in empowering the Girl -Child a nation is being empowered.
While commending the effort of Barr. Marylyn Daramola in ensuring that the Girl- Child in the state were trained and empowered, she promised to ensure that the stronger Delta vision of the state governor was not truncated.
While expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity to be chosen amongst the many, she thanked the state governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for finding her worth to serve in the State Executive Council.
On his part, her husband, Barr. Ngozi Chukwurah assured the Commissioner of all support she needs in ensuring that the governor finishes strong.
Barr. Chukwurah said with her experience in leadership, he was optimistic that the Commissioner would deliver on duties given to her.
In the same vein, Mr Tony Ohei said the choice of the governor was not a mistake, as Hon. Chukwurah would ensure the Girl- Child has a voice in the state.
