Renowned Comedian, Michael Usi has been sworn in as Vice President of Malawi.

The swearing in ceremony took place held in parliament in the capital, Lilongwe.

Earlier, when the Comedian declared his political intention, many misinterpreted it as one of his many jokes.

The swearing in of Usi as Vice President was following the death of Saulos Chilima, who died in a plane crash earlier this month, along with eight other people.

The Comedian turned politician, in inaugural speech, promised to honour his predecessor’s memory.

He appreciated President Lazarus Chakwera for believing in him, adding that he will not take the privilege to serve his people for granted.
