…As She Commissions Oko Event Centre, Flags off Oshimili South Youth Empowerment
The wife of the Delta State governor, Dcns. Tobore Oborevwori has commended the Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Asaba, Hon. Chief Obi Kelvin Ezenyili for reaching out to the people at the grassroots.
Dcns Oborevwori gave the commendation during the official commissioning of Oko ultra modern event centre, constructed by the Council Chairman led administration and official flag off ceremony of Oshimili South youth empowerment in Oko Amakom.
Oborevwori appreciated him for extending the dividends of democracy to his people.
She said the project was all about the MORE agenda of the Governor, adding that the people of Oko will remember this accomplishment for a long time.
While congratulating the people of Oko in particular and Oshimili South in general, she urged them to preserve the facility, enjoy its benefits, and protect the legacy project as it belongs to them.
Ezenyili said the initiative was in line with the Governor’s MORE agenda, to give the people of the community a befitting place for social events.
He said the construction of the project was born out of the desire for community development, infrastructural development and developmental governance.
The Chairman said, with the provision of this amenity fully fitted with State of Art Equipment, it has brought succor to the entire people of Oko community who travel outside this place to hold their meetings and other social gathering due to its unavailability in this area.
Speaking on the youth empowerment programme, he said it will address the problem of youth restiveness and ensure they are properly engaged.
He said as a youth oriented administration, they are determined to encourage them to live a life worthy of emulation.
While highlighting the achievement of his administration, he commended the members of the Executive Arm, Legislative Arm and Management Staff for the harmonious relationship that has existed and is still existing since the inception of his administration.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South, Ogbueshi Chike Ofosiokwu, commended the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his developmental strides.
Ifesiokwu said the governor has indeed kept to his campaign promises of more development to the state.
The Party Chairman passed a vote of confidence on the governor and endorsed him for two term in office, adding that there was no vacancy for gubernatorial ambition in 2027 general election.
“His Excellency has justified the eight years political contract that we signed with him. Until 2031, we have no business with any other person jostling for governorship position of the state”, he said.
Highlight of the event was the Flag off of the Fifty Million Naira (50,000,000) empowerment programme for 500 persons, with each beneficiary receiving the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) each, the distribution of 220 bags of rice to all the wards in the Local Government, with each ward receiving 20 bags, as an extension of inclusiveness in governance, sense of belonging, testament to move the council area to an enviable height and assurance of a blessed year 2025.
The event had the deputy governor, Sir Monday Onyeme; House of Representative member, Hon. Victor Nwaokolo; Chairman of Oshimili North, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), members of Oshimili South; traditional Chief, amongst others in attendance.
