The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Dcn. Joseph Otirhue has vowed to step down officers who didn’t not meet up to the January 2025 promotion requirements.

Otirhue disclosed this while speaking with our reporter in Asaba, Delta State during the day one of the promotion exercise .

He said the Commission was not going to compromise the rules that guides the promotion exercise as they were expected to update their certificates to enable their move to a higher level in the service.

He said the decision was as a result of the earlier awareness on the exercise and to ensure that defaulters of the directives be disciplined.

Otirhue said that the disqualification of erring local government staff during the promotion interview exercise would serve as their discipline.

He however said that those with health challenges who were unable to attend the interview would be given a second chance so as to set up in their level in service

The Chairman commended the compliance of those present at the interview, which contributed to the successful exercise.
