Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu has described the unity and love amongst athletes as the New Nigeria, every citizens envisage.
Aniagwu made this known while addressing Journalists during the day one of the National Sports Festival at Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, the state capital.
He said the high spirit and love that exists amongst the athletes, irrespective of their tribes, political affiliation religions, geographical inclination was sure to bring the country to the point of peace and security.
According to him, the sport festival was to build the bond of unity as a country, wherein the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory moving in one direction as a people and also to discover talents that would represent the country during international sports competition so as to be able to produce the likes of Amosun.
While commending the contingents and the governors who were present during the opening ceremony of the sport festival, he said the events were going on simultaneously as planned at different locations
The Commissioner also appreciated the state athletes for displaying their talents by taking the lead in scoring three goals, and wished that other contingents would compete favourably with them.
He said the competition was needed to motivate the athletes to put in their best to break new ground and discover talents.
According to Aniagwu with all the happenings at the various sports locations, it was obvious that new talents would emerge.
