A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief John Obukohwo Nani, has held a thanksgiving service, to mark the guber-natorial victory of Rt. Hon.Chief Sheriff Oborievwori at recent Governorship/House of Assembly election.
The thanksgiving was held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Jesse in Ethiope West Local Government Area.
Chief Nani, who was the PDP Campaign Director of the Delta Central Senatorial District during the just-concluded elections, rejoiced with hundreds of party faithful at the service, as leaders of PDP and the people of Jesse joined him to thank God for the victory of the party.
Addressing journalists , Chief John Nani said that Deltans had reasons to rejoice for the victory of PDP in the just concluded elections and described the victory as an act of God and emergence of trusted hands in the party.
‘’We are very grateful to God for the victory of our party PDP at Governorship/House Assembly elections. God disappointed all the evil plots to keep me out of circulation. For this reason, I decided it must be first to the alter to thank and appreciate God, who gave us all round victory’’.
Chief Nani appreciated Deltans for voting for Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori, adding that despite every attempt by the opposition to they came out emasse to vote for him.
He said that today Oborevwori was Governor -elect of the state, stressing that with his leadership experience, Oborevwori would pilot the affairs of the state to an enviable height in enhancing good governance through his ‘’MORE’’ agenda.
Chief Nani noted that Hon. Oborevwori had been able to galvanize the House of Assembly members for seven years, adding that no one had done that without being impeached.
He said that the State Governor Elect was the choice by Deltans, explaining that the victory was a testament of the people’s knowledge of his personality.
The Deputy Chairman of PDP in Sapele Local Government Area, Alhaji Tanimu Adamu, who was present at the occasion, said that the victory was for the people, as he expressed confidence in Oboirevwori’s ability to perform to the expectations of the people.
