The Deputy Governor of Delta state, Sir Monday Onyeme has commended the Oshimili North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie for his good and remarkable work towards the people of Oshimili North.
Sir Onyeme made the commendation during the launching of the Oshimili North Local Government (ONLG) Development Agenda Blueprint, titled ‘PUTA-IFE M.O.R.E AGENDA’ at Sweet Spirits Hotel, Okpanam.
Onyeme, while applauding the efforts of the council Chairman, said Esewezie’s second term will bring more limelight to the good people of Oshimili North.
Describing Esewezie as a man of vision, character and an achiever, who had done well during his first term, whose works he said will probably be one of the best in the state.
He said with the Chairman’s strength, character and proper planning, he is going to make the agenda a successful one and charged other Local Government Council Chairmen to emulate him.
The Deputy Governor assured Esewezie of the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori support and synergy with the Local Government councils to ensure that prosperity, good health, good education is taken to the grassroots.
Meanwhile, Onyeme also, recognize the presence of public private limited companies acknowledging them for their good works, adding that the state government is ready beyond Oshimili North to partner with them if willing, as it is for the purpose of providing good life for the people and also for the betterment of Delta State.
Esewezie said he was determined to bringing development to the grass root and ensure that no indigene of the Local Government were left behind in the PUTA-IFE M.O.R.E AGENDA.
He said the beneficiaries of the scholarship were selected from various wards across the local government and will receive funding from year one to their final year in University.
Highlight of the event was the awarding of scholarships to four exceptional students who excelled in the last UTME exams and secured university admissions; award presentation and a keynote address by the Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) on the topic, harnessing Private Sector Synergies for Sustainable Local Development The Oshimili North PUTA IFE MORE Agenda as a model for inclusive growth.
