…As Youth Commissioner Unveils DNYS Project
Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Agbateyimiro Isaac Weyinmi has assured representative of the Delta North Youth Summit of the state government partnership with their project
Agbateyimiro gave the assurance on Friday, September 15, 2023 when he played host to the executives of the group, at his office in Asaba, the state capital.
The Commissioner while unveiling the project, promised them of his support towards the project.
According to him, “the ministry, unlike every other ministries in the state, is a youth friendly one that is saddled with the of meeting the needs of youths in the state and issues relating to the development of youths in the state”.
While commending the initiative, he advised them to ensure that they had representative from across the nine local government areas which makes up Delta North senatorial district.
Earlier the Director of Media, Ambassador Valerie Opia intimated the Commissioner on the objectives of the group and the need for support from the state government.
In his words, the Organising Committee Chairman, Hon Chika Kelly Edozie said the upcoming summit of the group, tends to enhance networking opportunities, showcase success stories, project the youth talents and other activities that would be of great benefit to the development of youths in Delta North.
Hon. Edozie while soliciting for support from the state government towards the project, also appealed that members of the group be incorporated into the database of youths in the state, so as to benefit from the dividend of democracy.
On his part, the Director Protocol, Prince Ben Okolie, said the project would help youth Delta North interface with the political office holders, hence the need for collaboration with the government.
