…Oborevwori Calls For More Support In His Administration
Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori had promised to name the old Lagos Asaba road after the immediate past governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Oborevwori made this known during the home coming ceremony of Ifeanyi Okowa at Owa Model Primary School in Ika North East, Agbor, Delta State.
He said the decision was in honour of the immediate past governor’s contribution towards the development of the state.
While commending Deltans for their massive turnout at the auspicious occasion, Oborevwori called for more support from Deltans in his administration.
He assured them of fairness in his administration, adding that it would get to all Deltans in all the senatorial districts.
Okowa said all through his leadership, the Ika nation had contributed to the peace enjoyed in the state.
He thanked Deltans for their support which led to his successful leadership in the last eight years.
He also commended all that partnered with him and his deputy, adding that through that they have been able to impact the people of Deltans.
He urged the people of Ika, to be more united so as to secure their future and that of their children, adding that with their prayers the state would become stronger and greater.
He called for more support for the new governor, adding that he was one who is ready to relate with everyone irrespective of their class in the society.
On his part immediate past deputy governor, Dcn Kingsley Otuaro said he was proud that the Okowa’s administration has been able to deliver on their promises.
Otuaro thanked all those who made their governance a smooth one, adding that their achievement in governance was visible in the state.
The Chairman of the organising committee, Mr Nduka Irabor and Publisher of This Day newspaper in his remark, attributed the peace enjoyed in the state to the fervent prayers of the governor and his cabinet in the past eight years.

The Chairman described Sen. Okowa as an inspiration and pride of all Deltans going by his giant stride.
He also commended the children of governor for their humble conduct during their father’s tenure as governor, adding that they had proven to be of good example to all families in the state.
Speaking the representative of Gen. Lucky Irabor, Rear Admiral Patrick Ndudi Awulor thanked the Immediate past governor for all his developmental achievement in the state and thanked all for gracing the occasion.
The Ika North East Chairman, Hon. Victor Eboka described Okowa as an embodiment of peace and epitome of peace, adding that if it were possible they would have requested that he be given a third term in office.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of the book on the historical account of Okowa, “Delta Governor: How Okowa Broke The Jinx”, authored by Emmanuel Uchechukwu Amaize and Mr Nobert Chiazor.
