Chairman, Oshimili South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogbueshi Dada Okonji has advised lawmakers in the Local Government council to sustain the relationship they had with thier constituents, irrespective of thier decisions to return to office.
Okonji gave the advise during the valedictory session of the Legislators in Asaba, Delta State.
He urged them to continue with the synergy they had with the people they represent at the grass root so as to not to give room for opposition parties in thier various constituents.
While commending them for their unity and peaceful coexistence, he assured those who had successfully represented their wards to be optimistic of more support from their constituents.
In the same vein, the Chairman of the Council, Hon Kelvin Obi Ezenyili, said he was pleased to have them exit office without any rancour amongst themselves or from external bodies.
Congratulating them he said they have made a record in the Council, of a tenure without the impeachment of the Leader, quarrel or suspension of anyone of them
Appreciating the leadership prowess of the Leader of the Legislative arm, Hon. Michael Okonji, the Chairman said his humility had contributed to the outstanding peace that existed amongst the lawmaker.
The Chairman said he was glad for the support they gave him in accomplishment of projects which has earned the Local Government distinction scores, adding that the administration was not one to toy with, as it had made a great landmark in his political journey.
Ezenyili said their quality representation while in office, would serve as a determinant factor for thier successful return to serve their people at the seventh assembly.
On his part, the Leader of the House, Hon. Michael Okonji, thanked his colleagues for their unalloyed co-operation and support, which culminated in the success of their tenure.
Okonji thanked the Executive Chairman and his team for providing a conducive working atmosphere for all the lawmakers, and also the management and Staff of Oshimili South Local Government Council, the clerk and his team for their team spirit.
He extended gratitude to the immediate past governor of the state, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for giving them the privilege to serve the people of Oshimili South.
Applauding the governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Leader said he had made the youth an integral part of his administration.
He however, expressed regret over the exit of the former majority Leader, late Hon. Chuks Collins Ogbotobo who died during their tenure.
Speaking one of other lawmaker, representing representing Oko, Hon. Kelvin Nwabueze, said he was delighted for the bills which they had passed for the advancement of the LG.
Appreciating the unity that strived amongst them, he said it was worth the expression on their faces as they had work harmoniously as a family.
The Councilor representing Ward 11, Hon Ngozi Mgbeze, thanked the Party leaders and people of her ward for thier support, adding that serving as a Councillor was one of the best experiences of her life.
Those present at the event were the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Ify Ogbogu, Head of Personnel Management, Mrs Omooghene Idao, the Clerk of the legislative House, Mr. Marculay Okuwe, amongst others.
