Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) have engaged themselves in a physical tussle over who gains custody of suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

The public show of shame between the secret police and officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service took place at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The scuffled was as a result of who takes custody of Emefiele after the presiding judge, Nicholas Oweibo, had ordered that he be granted bail in the sum of N20 million.

Oweibo had earlier ruled that Emefiele be remanded at the correctional centre, pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions, but the DSS operatives insisted on taking custody of him.

After much fight, the DSS operatives overpowered the operatives of the Nigeria Correctional Service and went away with Emefiele, as against court rule.
