Delta State Government has inaugurated Committee members to review the previous policies and programme of the Ministry of Youth Development and align them with the MORE agenda of the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Agbateyiniro Isaac Weyinmi while inaugurating 17- man committee, said they were to harmonise the policies and programmes of the ministry and ensure that it was in line with the vision of the governor.
Weyinmi charged them review the existing national youth policies and their domestication in the state.
Reading the terms of reference, the Commissioner urged them to revise the 2019 to 2024 National Youth Policy, the 2021 to 2024 National Youth Employment Action Plan and also the fashion innovative strategies that would enable the youths actualise their potentials and be relevant in the state.
According to him, members were drawn from various critical segments of the society to help get a well detailed database of youths in the state who would not only be empowered by the state government, but also psychologically mentored.
In his remark the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Emmanuel Emuakpeje assured Deltans of not failing in delivering a fruitful result at the end of the two weeks of their assignment.
Members of the committee are, Dere Jaripke as Secretary; Uche Odili, Frank Pukon, Emeke Asiwe, Ogangan Aghogho, Ebunu Oghenekohttworho, Collins Okonkwo, Anthony Omaenikun, Dr Eric Adishi, Rev. Dr. Daniel Oruma, George Ohoekevwo, Fred Adigwu, Emeka Odibeli, Chidozie Onyekwu, Gloria Obuseh and Favour Efekoda.
