The Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government, Hon. Ezenyili Kelvin Obi (EKO), has reaffirmed his commitment to youth development and digital empowerment with the sponsorship of intensive technology training for 23 constituents.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chairman stressed that investing in digital skills is critical to preparing young people for the demands of the global economy. He noted that his administration is focused on equipping youths with relevant tools and knowledge that will position them for opportunities beyond local boundaries.
According to him, the programme goes beyond training, as each beneficiary was provided with a brand-new Apple laptop to enhance their learning and productivity. He described the gesture as a deliberate effort to build a strong digital foundation within the community.
“Our vision is to ensure that our youths are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital world. By investing in their skills and providing them with the right tools, we are preparing them to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to economic development,” the Chairman stated.
He further emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved through education, innovation, and access to modern technology, adding that his administration remains committed to initiatives that promote self-reliance and job creation.
The initiative, widely described as part of the “EKO Vision,” reflects a broader strategy aimed at bridging the digital divide, fostering economic independence, and empowering young people to transition from job seekers to job creators.
