The Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State was thrown into panic on Monday evening, November 24, 2025, after armed men suspected to be bandits attacked the area, abducting at least 11 residents, including vulnerable women and children.

The attackers, numbering between 20 and 30, reportedly stormed the community with a herd of cattle before unleashing gunfire, forcing residents to flee for safety. In the chaos that followed, an elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet and sustained injuries.

According to community sources, the abducted victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, several children, and seven members of the same family. The assault marks yet another violent incident in the region, coming barely 24 hours after 38 abducted worshippers from the church attack in Eruku were rescued.

Local hunters and members of the community vigilante group quickly mobilized in an attempt to confront the attackers. However, the heavily armed bandits fled into the surrounding forest before they could be intercepted.

The attack has heightened fear among residents, who are calling for stronger security presence and proactive measures to safeguard vulnerable communities across Kwara State.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement as search efforts intensify for the missing residents
