A Delta State farmer in Orchard Fish Farm, Onowita  Mamode  Isaac has cried out for help from the general public.

He called on the state government and well meaning Deltans to come to his aid, as he had lost virtually all he had laboured for.

According to him, the flood which was caused by the high volume of water had washed away his pond, leaving him with nothing to fend for himself and his family.

Narrating the ordeal, he said the sad encounter happened at an odd time, when no one could be able to salvage the situation.

Onowita said the situation was so sad that fishermen who were meant to sympatise with them, made away with the fishes as they caught and sold them to the public.

He however, pleaded with the public to help him stay alive in his business of enhancing food for all Deltans.

The fish farmer said he would be grateful if grants and inputs can be given to him to start business all over.

While commending the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for coming to the rescue of the farmers, he said his directive to the Ministry of Environment who through the aid of a swamp buggy had earlier helped to open up the river for easy flow of water.
