Following the pressure and rejection by the Imolites, organised labour, IPOB MASSOB and other Igbo groups the Imo state governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has withdrawn from the 2023 Imo State governorship pool which is taking place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, In his state.
Senator Hope Uzodimma said that he wouldn’t want to continue in the war called governance, adding that he haven’t been at peace, he confirmed that over 4000 Imo youths have been killed during his administration and many communities destroyed.
The Senator noted that his further push in becoming the governor may result in killing of the remaining Imolites which he will not want to kill more of his brothers and sister in a quest for power.
Uzodimma claimed that he haven’t slept since four years of his tenure in the office as a governor which he wouldn’t want to continue
It will be recall that Imo state has been turned into a graveyard since the inception of Senator Hope Uzodimma as the governor of Imo state, Imo citizens has also confirmed that electricity has been cut off in the whole state few weeks to the election and airports has also been shut against entering Imo State
