FABCWA Holds 2022 Intl World Conference

… As Leader calls for revival towards exploits

The International Prelate and visionary leader of Female Archbishops, Bishops and Clergy worldwide Association, (FABCWA), Cardinal Prof. Mrs Chioma Ononiwu (JP) has called for a great revival of towards greater exploit.

Cardinal Ononiwu gave the call during the 2022 International world conference, ordination, consecration, enthronement and awards with the theme ‘positioning for greater exploits’ at the House of Freedom, Landmark Cathedral in Asaba, Delta State.

She said, with the many wrong happenings in the name of Christianity, it was time they draw close to God.

Frowning at the misinterpretation of the word of God by some Clergies, she said so many persons were practicing things far from what the bible spelt out, adding that it was so sad that nations were doing all they could to stop the growth and spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Leader of the Association said that the Church of Jesus was not a manmade institution, hence they must arise to encourage themselves to be strong in the Lord by allowing God have his way in their lives and to be revived as it was in the days of Pentecost.

She charged the Clergies to be equipped with faith to run their ministries, churches and families.

On his part the international Prelate of Word Based, Barr. Solomon Akhigbe advised participants to be careful of persons who lay hands on them.

He said that in other for them to fulfill their calling they should be mindful as there were lot of contaminated persons who claims to be Ministers everywhere.

Speaking, the Host, Bishop Derby Nuel charged them to love God so as to be able to do exploit in life.

Bishop Derby said without intimacy with God it would be difficult for them to attain heights in their calling, hence they should serve God with all sincerity of heart.

Labour Day Event Is Opportunity For Workers To Celebrate Themselves – Ofobruku

The Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Delta State Council, Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku has said that the May Day Celebration is an opportunity for workers to celebrate themselves, adding that workers in the State should come out enmasse to showcase their strength on Sunday or Monday depending on the sighting of the moon to avoid clash with the Sallah celebration.

He made this statement during the State Executive Council meeting on Friday, 29th April, 2022, at the Labour House while briefing members of SEC who are SAC members and Chairmen and Secretaries of affiliate unions.

Ofobruku insisted that it is the responsibility of affiliate unions to mobilize their members, maintaining that Labour Day is an annual event which workers are expected to look forward to in order to showcase their strength, their resilience and their capacity as Nigerian workers.

The Chairman used the medium to eulogize the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa whom he described as workers friendly and listening Governor.

Mr. Ofobruku posited that in some States, Governors do not identify with Labour activities, thereby appreciating Okowa for always encouraging and supporting workers in every of their mandate events.

The eloquent Chairman also used the opportunity to caution affiliate unions to stop holding delegate conferences without inviting the NLC as parent body to give goodwill messages or supervise their elections.

He therefore notified the SEC-in-Session of the National Executive Council’s decision to get Labour involved in politics in the interest of workers and the development of Nigerian economy.

On the strength of the above, he informed SEC that the Union had introduced political committees into its organs of operation, and on the basis of this, two members from Delta State Council – Comrades (Chief) Victor Uchuno and Fidel Emeni had been appointed respectively as Chairman and Secretary of the Political Committee for Delta State Council. Their role is to galvanise and coordinate workers to advance their supports to credible and sincere politicians ready to pursue the yearnings and aspirations of workers in line with mustering the political will to take Nigeria out of the woods.

PVA Supports Ubulu Unor Devt

In giving back to her community, the Progressive Vanguard Association, Ubulu Unor has decided to contributed towards the developmental activities in the community.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the association, in Ubulu Unor, Aniocha South Local Government, the President, Mr Paul Ugo Nwadiei said that the decision was meant at bringing back the past glory of the community and ensuring that their youths take up skill acquisition to develop themselves.

Nwadiei said the association which metamorphosed from the formation of the Federated Ubulu Unor Student Association, (FUSA) was more committed to ensuring that their youths becomes a force to reckoning with.

The President said as part of their objective the association would provide educational assistant through scholarship scheme to help the less privileged and vulnerable in the society acquire education up to university level, encourage their youths to take up skill acquisition to develop themselves, embark on development projects in secondary school in view by providing tables, desk, chairs for teachers and students , library facilities and most importantly, conveniences for the teachers and students against the backdrop of the ugly scenario where they use the bush nearby the school.

He added that the association’s secretariat earmarked with internet facilities would assist youth and the entire community with their documentations and registering of various government empowerment programs instead of traveling to the neighboring community to access the facilities.

He said that with the esteem positions members of the association occupy in the society and support from Patrons and other members in dispora, the objective of the association would become a reality.

Agric Minister Assures Support Towards Veterinary Services

In commemoration with the annual world Veterinary Day celebration, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, has assured Veterinarians of the Ministry’s commitment towards assisting and facilitating programmes geared towards resilient and impactful national veterinary service.

Abubakar who was represented by Chief Veterinary officer of Nigeria, Dr Umana Peter made this known during the 2022 Veterinary Day celebration, with the theme ‘ strengthening Veterinary resilient’, in Asaba, Delta State.

He said that it would help preserve animal resources, improve livelihood, promote livestock productivity, food safety and public health and also promote foster International trade.

He said that in ensuring that the welfare of the animals were prioritized, they should remain fit and well enough to be effective in their job.

While speaking on the relevance of the profession, the national President of the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Dr. Mrs Olutoyin Adetunberu called for support of the Veterinary officers.

Adetuberu urged the federal and state government to continue to provide the much needed supports for the veterinary profession in the area of man power, training and retraining so as to enable them operate at the time of Veterinary practice of the 21st century.

According to the National President, the Veterinarians need proper tools and support to maintain their personal health and wellness in the discharge of their daily activities.

She added that it would enable them undergo research to better understand the mental and physical burdens veterinarians face.

Speaking on the objective of the event, she said it was to promote animal health and well-being by safeguarding animals against diseases which translates to protecting those who can suffer but cannot speak. Adding that the Veterinarians ensures that the animals had a voice and their welfare a priority.

The National President said that in appreciating the unparalleled efforts of Veterinarians in the area of improving global economy and human disease prevention through control of zoonotic disease.

Speaking after the inauguration of members of the Committee on Private Premises Veterinary Regulation Committee, the state Director of Veterinary Services , Dr Charles Diai said that in ensuring that the practice of Veterinary is being regulated and maintenance of standard in other to operate in the state, hence the need for constituting the Committee by the Veterinary Council of Nigeria.

Diai said it would help checkmate quackery in the profession and that clients are rendered good services.

Highlight of the event was the inauguration of the state Veterinary Committee, keynote lectures and showcasing of products and services of sponsors.

EID – EL-FITR: Police Boss Orders Maximum Security

…Felicitate with Muslim FaithfulAhead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and beyond. the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered a large number of Police officers deployed across the country, especially intelligence operatives, traffic officers and other operational assets of the Force for maximum security.The directive to Strategic Police Managers at various levels was to accord adequate priority to Eid prayer grounds, highways, recreational centres, financial institutions especially ATM and POS points, to maintain a more secured public and social space for the celebration and to ensure safety of Nigerians during the festive period.The IGP also directed that all officers deployed be properly briefed and adequately supervised to ensure they maintain high level of proactiveness, visibility patrols and professionalism in the discharge of policing services to all and sundry.The Police boss charged all State Commissioners of Police and their supervisory Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, to ensure that crime and criminality was put in check and brought to its lowest ebb for a hitch free celebration.While felicitating with Muslim faithful across the country in the year’s Eid-el-Fitr.He urged them to practicalise the values of empathy, faith, charity and other salient teachings of Ramadan in their relationship with other members of the society.
