Artisans Felicitate With Sheriff Oborevwori On His Guber Victory

Chairman, Artisan Association, Delta State chapter, Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Abanum has congratulated the gubernatorial flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his recent victory.

 

Abanum said the wide margin in the votes casted against his opponents was an indication that he was the choice of the delegates.

 

The Artisan’s Chairman, while sending his good will message on behalf of members of the Association, described the Speaker as a team leader who had effectively led other Honorable members of the House of Assembly.

 

He also lauded the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for creating an environment for the peaceful election across the state.

 

Abanum said the exemplary leadership of governor Ifeanyi Okowa in ensuring that the election was peaceful was worth emulating by other states and Political Parties.

Mrs. Etaluku gave this charge  on Thursday, May 26, 2022 during the grand finally of this year’s Delta Broadcasting Service Warri Season 2 Essay writing completion held at Staff Nursery and Primary School Hall, Federal Government College, Warri, she stressed that education was never a scam, that it is the person that doesn’t want to read that’s a scam, the PPEB Chairman urged children to shun drugs,
cultism and other negative vices that may truncate their future just as she congratulated the winners.

General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, PST. Malcolm Oteri reiterated the commitment to show the people and students better way forward through education in order to cause positive change in the society.

According to PST. Oteri “We have to add value to our peoples lives, change the narrative by impacting on human lives with education”, he assured that the competition will always get better in the next season, urging students to be dedicated to their studies because they are the leaders to look up to in the nearest future.

While commending DBS, Warri for the essay competition, an educationist and former Commissioner in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Dr. Henry Ofa, appealed to the organizers to add mathematics to the competition, he promised to continually support the essay competition.

Dr. Ofa noted that education
enables easy leadership of the people and that it remains the best rock of the society for positive development, stressing that Nigeria need meaningful education to reduce the burden in governance in the country and in the state.

Coordinator DBS Warri essay writing competition, Jennifer Orugbo, disclosed that the competition is aimed at enhancing right thinking and creative ability of students in promoting academics excellence.

Orugbo expressed satisfaction for the awareness and participation of students, according to her 450 students registered for the competition 320 participated leading to three different rounds that produced overall winners both in junior and secondary categories.

DSC Technical High School emerged best performing school both in senior and junior categories, while Awurun Esther of Holy Crest College took the star prize of the essay competition with 92 points winning 200 Thousand Naira Scholarship, Birikuro Emmanuel Ayibakuro of Word of Faith Secondary School came Second winning 150 thousand and Jephthah Juwon also clinched third position with award of 50 thousand Naira.

The Junior category, Etobamre Iruoghene Martilda, DSC Technical High School, first position with award of 150 thousand, Beniku-Ejebe Hananel, Word of Faith Schools second runner up won 100 thousand Naira and Amiworu Previous took the third position with scholarships awarded to all recipients as well as free adverts to winning schools for one week by DBS Warri offered by the General Manager, PST. Oteri.

Consolation prizes was presented to many schools that participated in the competition, Former Chairman NUT Warri South, Comrade Ishmael Ikuejawa, Chief Pius Omasanuwa, DBS management team and others commended the organizers of the completion.

Rister Assures Delivery On Dividend Of Democracy

The winner of the Aniocha South House of Assembly ticket, under the  All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Rister Agbabumeze Izedunor, has assured the people of his constituency of delivering the dividend of democracy to them.

Rister gave the assurance while speaking with Pressmen during the Party’s primary election for the House of Assembly in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

He said he was ready to beat other political parties  by ensuring that the true dividend of  democracy which they have all envisaged was delivered to them.

While thanking God, whom all power belongs to and the APC family in  Aniocha South for supporting him in delivering a mandate that would result to good governance in the coming election, he urged them to trust God for victory in the 2023 general election.

Frowning at the denial of good governance to the people of Aniocha South, for the past twenty-four years, he said he was glad to have gotten the ticket to lead his people so as to bring about the change they have all prayed for.

On his part, the Party LG Chairman, Mr Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudima said going by the election which was free, fair and credible, it was a win win for all.

While commending the aspirants, Sochukwudinma said they were true Party men, hence, Dr Okafor, who scored second position should embrace the spirit of sportsmanship by support his brother who emerged winner in the election to ensure that they win in the general election.

He said with God, the reign of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Aniocha South would be a thing of the past.

Also speaking, the returning officer, Hon. Williams Deniran, said he was impressed by the peaceful conduct of the delegate during the exercise, in voting their choice candidate.

Deniran said that with the transparency in the voting process, there would be no reason for any litigation coming from the result that emerged.

The election which had 54 accredited delegates, witnessed Prince Rister score 49 votes while  his opponent, Dr. Stanley Afamefune Okafor, got five votes

Jubilation As Rister Clinches APC Aniocha South Assembly Ticket

 

One time aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State,  Prince Rister Agbabumeze Izedunor, has emerged winner in the House of Assembly primary election.

 

The election which was peacefully conducted by the returning officer, Hon. William Deniran and supervised by Mr Felix Moses had 54 delegates accredited out of the 55 registered delegates.

 

Prince Rister who polled a total number of 49 votes, during the election which held at the Party’s Secretariat in Ogwashi- Uku left his opponent, Dr. Stanley Afamefune Okafor, with only five votes.

 

The declaration of the result, by the returning Officer, led to so much jubilation as party members, could not hide their joy but rejoiced with the House of Assembly flag bearer.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Delta North Senatorial candidate, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his  emergence as  PDP Governorship flag bearer.

 

Prince Nwoko who was elated at the landslide victory of Oborevwori, also commended other aspirants for their courage to go through the primary election.

 

He further assured that PDP having made the best decision to choose Oborevwori as it’s  gubernatorial bearer would go all out to defeat  challengers at the 2023 general  election.

 

Nwoko  noted  that Oborevwori has the energy and  experience to excel and called  on all  Deltans to enthrone him as governor in the governorship polls for continuity of good governance and inclusive development.

Oborevwori Victory Well Deserved, Says Otirhue

 

Chairman,Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Dcn Joseph Otirhue has described Rt. Hon. Chief (Elder) Sheriff Francis  Oborevwori’s gubernatorial victory as a well deserved one.

 

This was made known in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman to our reporter in Asaba, the state capital.

 

He stated that as the incumbent Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Oborevwori had set the pace for spectacular human and capital development in almost seven years of his stewardship in a robust deliberation in the House.

 

While congratulating Oborevwori on behalf of members and staff of the Commission, he said it was their hope and prayers that God Almighty sees him through during the forth coming general elections.

HON. ENGR. EMEKA EMMANUEL NWAOBI: THE MAN THAT SAW TOMORROW

 

Ahead of the just concluded election, the member representing Aniocha North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi had earlier admonished his colleagues to queue behind the Speaker in his electoral bid.

 

While addressing members of the Assembly during a plenary on the 25th of January 2022, Nwaobi enjoined them to support Mr. Speaker in becoming the next Governor of Delta State.

 

He said he was optimistic that Mr. Speaker would be the next Governor.

 

He also called on Deltans to support Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, so that he can continue from where the state governor, Sen. Okowa will stop in 2023.

 

Indeed his prediction of the Speaker’s victory turned out a reality, when he won the ticket for the state under the People’s Democratic Party.

Speaker Picks Governorship Ticket

Delta State Speaker, in the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has won the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2023 election.

 

Declaring him winner of the election, which took place at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State the electoral Officer, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu announced  Oborevwori winner and governorship candidate for the state under the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

 

The election which was peacefully had the winner, defeat thirteen other aspirants who were earlier cleared with him with 590 votes.

Delta Governorship Primaries: PDP Accredits 823 Delegates

As Delta State prepares to usher in the flagbearer for the 2023 general election under the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), 823 delegates  have been accredited an are currently voting in the primary election.

Revealing this, during the primary election of the Party, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the state capital, the national electoral officer, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu said the delegates were drawn from the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.

 

He urged the delegate to carefully thumbprint for the aspirant of their choice, adding that fourteen Gubernatorial aspirants were cleared by the Party at the national level.

 

While commending the delegates for their peaceful disposition in the previous primary elections held across the Local Government Areas, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Monday Udom-Tom, charged them to continue in the same light.

 

He urged all aspirants to join hands with whoever emerges winner at the end of the exercise to move the state forward.
