In giving back to her community, the Progressive Vanguard Association, Ubulu Unor has decided to contributed towards the developmental activities in the community.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the association, in Ubulu Unor, Aniocha South Local Government, the President, Mr Paul Ugo Nwadiei said that the decision was meant at bringing back the past glory of the community and ensuring that their youths take up skill acquisition to develop themselves.
Nwadiei said the association which metamorphosed from the formation of the Federated Ubulu Unor Student Association, (FUSA) was more committed to ensuring that their youths becomes a force to reckoning with.
The President said as part of their objective the association would provide educational assistant through scholarship scheme to help the less privileged and vulnerable in the society acquire education up to university level, encourage their youths to take up skill acquisition to develop themselves, embark on development projects in secondary school in view by providing tables, desk, chairs for teachers and students , library facilities and most importantly, conveniences for the teachers and students against the backdrop of the ugly scenario where they use the bush nearby the school.
He added that the association’s secretariat earmarked with internet facilities would assist youth and the entire community with their documentations and registering of various government empowerment programs instead of traveling to the neighboring community to access the facilities.
He said that with the esteem positions members of the association occupy in the society and support from Patrons and other members in dispora, the objective of the association would become a reality.

Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and beyond. the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered a large number of Police officers deployed across the country, especially intelligence operatives, traffic officers and other operational assets of the Force for maximum security.The directive to Strategic Police Managers at various levels was to accord adequate priority to Eid prayer grounds, highways, recreational centres, financial institutions especially ATM and POS points, to maintain a more secured public and social space for the celebration and to ensure safety of Nigerians during the festive period.The IGP also directed that all officers deployed be properly briefed and adequately supervised to ensure they maintain high level of proactiveness, visibility patrols and professionalism in the discharge of policing services to all and sundry.The Police boss charged all State Commissioners of Police and their supervisory Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, to ensure that crime and criminality was put in check and brought to its lowest ebb for a hitch free celebration.While felicitating with Muslim faithful across the country in the year’s Eid-el-Fitr.He urged them to practicalise the values of empathy, faith, charity and other salient teachings of Ramadan in their relationship with other members of the society.
