Samora Hospital Boss Felicitates With Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei On Her Birthday Anniversary

A consummate medical professional, Dr  Bennett Ochei has congratulates Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei on her birthday anniversary.

The Chief Executive Officer of Samora Hospital and Sambotch Pharmacy, Dr. Bennett Ochei, in his congratulatory message to his younger brother’s wife, Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei, on her birthday, prayed God to bless her.

In a statement, the medical doctor lauded the strong commitment and contributions of their beloved wife to the wellbeing of the entire family over the years. In a thoughtful and well worded message, he described Dr. Doris Ochei as a daughter of Zion and a woman of immeasurable value who continues to examplify good conduct, peace, love, and humility.

He added that her disposition as a virtuous woman remains exemplary. “We are blessed with this wife of inestimable value whose contributions resonate with everyone in our community: rich or poor, man or woman, young or old. We could not have asked for a better wife. On a day like this, we all owe her a great debt of gratitude for her vision, courage, and generosity of spirit. ”

He also applauded her pet project, ‘Dr Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation’, which is directed at helping vulnerable individuals in the society, especially children, the physically challenged and widows.

In the same vein, head of the legendary Ochei- Aghaeze family,  Pa Kingsley Ochei also congratulated Dr. Doris Ochei on this special occasion of her birth anniversary, on behalf of the entire Ochei family for her uncommon humanity, dedication, reverence and strong faith in God. He also commended her for remaining a firm and solid pillar of support to her husband, Major General Raymond Nkemakonam Ochei, their son, over the years.

Similarly, His Royal Magesty, Obi Christopher Uzu Diji, Obi of Onicha-Olona Kingdom, also applauded her efforts towards changing the lives of the entire children of Onicha-Olona with her philanthropy and sense of motherly love. Public Relations, Veritable Tool For Good Governance Says Igben

The Head of Mass Communication Department, Delta State University, Abraka, Dr. Harvey Igben has described Public Relations as a veritable tool for good governance in any society.
Igben disclosed this during the 2024 maiden monthly meeting of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Warri, Delta State.
Speaking on the topic, Public Relations for Good Governance, Dr. Igben said it was essential in the enhancement of good leadership.
Defining Public Relations as having numerous definitions, he said it is a strategic communication process that builds mutual beneficial relationship between organisations and thier publics.
Highlighting some of the features of good governance, the erudite scholar said without accountability, transparency, rule of law, fair conduct of electoral process, cultural diversity, human rights there would be no true system of government.
He said for government to be well represented in the society, Public Relations as a vital tool should be used to shapen public opinion, cultivate and sustain positive impression, infulence policy decision and also used to create and sustain visual image of the society.
Igben added that as PR experts it is thier duty to help impact public confidence, public awareness, sustainable democracy, public image of government, responsiveness, constructive interaction, sustainable democracy.
The guest speaker, however mentioned corruption, conflict, insecurity, unemployment, poverty, poor economy and unethical behaviour as some of the challenges of good governance.
On his part, the state Chairman of the institute, Mr Godfrey Osakwe said Public Relations is a top public function which any country cannnot do without, adding that failure to lead without it can result to their downfall.

DTSG Approves N15.7 Billion For Phase-3 Of Flood Control Measures In Effurun, Warri, Environs

Delta State Government has approved the sum of N15.7 billion for the third phase of flood control measures in Warri, Effurun, and environs in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas of the state.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza immediately after the State Executive Council meeting presided over by the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori on Thursday.
The Commissioner for Information said the third phase of the control measures will cover Airport Road, Ugborikoko, Bendel Estate, and Ugboroke and environs in Uvwie and Warri South Local Government Areas.
Dr Osuoza explained the flood control measures in Warri/Effurun and Environs Phase 3 is a major project that was approved to address some of these challenges.
“It is worth noting that phases 1 and 2 of this project were awarded a long time ago. Phase 1 is already completed, while Phase 2 is at 85 per cent completion. Phase 3, which requires an estimated sum of N15.7 billion, covers some critical areas in Uvwie and Warri South”, he added.
Osuoza also disclosed that the Council approved a counterpart fund of N600 million for the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG Conditional Grants Scheme for Delta State.
He specified that the Governor and the State Executive Council are familiar of the difficulty endured by Nigerians and Deltans, and have resolved to alleviate their plight.
Also speaking, the Director-General of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA), Prince Godwin Ejinyere, confirmed that the Agency is presently working on a total solution for flood control measures in the Warri Stadium area, adding that design work is ongoing around Enerhen Community, Igbudu, and Odibo Estate, among others area.

Bishop Adegbite Appointment: A New Dawn Of Renewed Hope

A group of Christian Clerics known as Renewed Hope Prayer Fellowship which comprises of Christian Clerics of different denominations, has described the appointment of the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, as a New Dawn of Renewed Hope.

During a press briefing by the clerics, they expressed their gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a capable leader to lead the NCPC.

The Clerics who are optimistic of a vibrant NCPC under Bishop Adegbite, stated “he is experienced in the work of God and will work for the progress and success of the Commission”.

In a press statement read by the Coordinator of the group, Pastor Timothy Ademola, it quoted Psalm 126 verses one and two which states that “When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing”.

As the Clerics gathered they appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his magnanimity in appointing Bishop Stephen Adegbite as the 4th substantive Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, an appointment which they said was most appropriate at this juncture in the history of the NCPC

According to Pastor Ademola, “As you all know, Pilgrimage is an important aspect of the Faith of Jesus Christ as it is one of the few physical ordinances, by which believers in real time, connect by faith and experience to the Holy Land where our Lord and Savior laid the foundations of our faith by dying for our sins on the Cross of Calvary.

” For Mr President at this point to appoint an extremely credible and reputable Christian Cleric like Bishop Stephen Adegbite to head NCPC, is a testimony to the fact that he is indeed a lover of our faith.The Coordinator stated.

The Clerics who expressed excitement while commending President Ahmed Tinubu, said he appointed the right person to lead the NCPC.

“Bishop Stephen Adegbite credentials speaks for themselves, like my colleague, Pastor Peter Abraham said, it appears that God has given Bishop Adegbite a gift of administration, that is why we are excited. Pastor Ademola said.

The Clerics welcomed the new Boss of NCPC as they promised to stand by him as he moves and achieves greater success in NCPC.

Niger Delta Youths Commends Akpabio, Says They Will Remain Responsible, Law Abiding Citizens

The Niger Delta Youth Movement has commended President of the Senate of Nigeria, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, for his support and uncommon bravery during its just concluded election that held on January 22, 2024 in Omoku, Rivers State.

In an appreciation letter signed by its president, Major Ekene Frank, the group thanked Senator Akpabio for his love and fatherly support all through the election. Members of Niger Delta Youth Movement also prayed God to grant the distinguished Senator peace of mind, wisdom, protection and the understanding to make the right decisions always as the Chairman of Nigeria’s National Assembly and the number one legislator in Nigeria.

NCPC Our Flagship; An Expression Of Evcellence Says CAN President

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), His Eminence, Most Reverend Daniel Okoh has described NCPC as a flagship for Christians and an expression of excellence.
He stated this on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC) Rt. Rev. Stephen Adegbite at the corporate headquarters of NCPC in Abuja.
His Eminence stressed that the Church owes NCPC and it can only get better.
He said the NCPC boss is a co-labourer in the vineyard of God and he is competent, has the capacity and he is available at all times to add value to every system. According to him, “we all can attest to this”.
The CAN President affirmed that they are not partisan as a body, hence they were at the Commission to pledge their support for the NCPC boss.
He assured Rt. Rev. Adegbite that they would continue to pray for him. He said that it is their prayer that anything that comes out from NCPC would be good. In his words, “let us see how we can move this place better”.
His Eminence charged Christians to pray for those in authority, stating that the expectations of Christians are high with the appointment of RT. Rev. Adegbite as the Executive Secretary of NCPC. According to him, “all the Christians expect better service and cooperation”. He prayed that his tenure in NCPC would flourish.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rt. Rev Stephen Adegbite thanked the CAN President for finding it deserving to pay him a courtesy visit.
He assured His Eminence that he must follow due diligence to the latter in whatever he would do as NCPC boss.
He explained that his position as the Executive Secretary of NCPC is for CAN.
He further stated, “this is the first time somebody of my status as a Bishop will be appointed as the Executive Secretary of NCPC.
The NCPC boss assured His Eminence that with his prayers he would deliver on the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government.
He affirmed “we are in safe hand; we are going to do what is right”.
Rt. Rev Adegbite appreciated his predecessors for their contributions to the growth of the Commission, stating that he would start where they stop. He maintained that whatever he would do, he would do it with the fear of God.

Delta’ll Soon Become Super Hub For Investments, Tourism – Aguariavwodo

Senior Political Adviser to Delta State Governor, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, has again applauded governor Sheriff Oborevwori, over his giant strides in the state’s development, envisioning a future where Delta State stands out as a super hub for investments and tourism through sustainable growth and good governance.

The Senior Political Adviser gave the assurance in his office on Monday, when he received in audience the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Communications and Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau, Dr Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe and management team.

Aguariavwodo disclosed that the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is like the proverbial cat with nine lives, haven won all thirty eight frivolous cases pressed against him, noting that he was not found wanting because of his unblemished principled lifestyle and sound moral integrity.

He congratulated the governor over his resounding victory at the Supreme Court, saying that focus had since shifted to full scale implementation of the governor’s MORE agenda aimed at Advancing Delta through people focused socioeconomic programmes; wealth and job creation, youth and women empowerment, as well as quality heath care, proper funding of educational institutions and other sectors.

Acknowledging the enormity of the task at hand, the Spolad urged the State Orientation Bureau to also focus on expanded collaboration beyond government ministries, departments and agencies by involving the private sector in sensitization campaigns Programmes that would project the multifaceted opportunities for investors and tourists.

Senator Aguariavwodo pledged his commitment to actively participate in sensitization activities of the Bureau, to drive the administration’s vision for a transformed and prosperous state.

He thank the governor for appointing Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe to head the Bureau, describing him as a highly skilled individual with vast knowledge of media management and strategic communication, as can be seen from his enviable strides in last and present administrations.

“The State Bureau of Orientation was the first to be created in the state, and your assigned responsibilities are enormous, especially in the area of reorientation of citizens on the need to be core stakeholders with government and the governor, rebranding of the state in line with the governor’s MORE agenda among others.

“Immediately after the Supreme Court victory, wherein governor Oborevwori and the Peoples Democratic Party won all thirty eight Court cases pressed against them, the governor and his Deputy shifted attention to the full scale implementation of this administration socioeconomic blueprint to Advance Delta.

“It is heartwarming that construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has mobilized to site and work is now in progress at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate, where State of the art flyovers, road expansion and pedestrian bridges are being constructed, and many more projects initiated by this administration.

“Delta State Orientation Bureau must be in the fast lane, sensitizing the people on progress made by government and the governor, project our tourism potentials, as well as urging citizens and corporate bodies on the need to pay their taxes, see government projects as their projects and so on and so forth.

“I thank the governor for appointing Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe as the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau, while also functioning as the Executive Assistant on Communications to His Excellency, the Governor. He’s a round ped in a round hole, and I have no doubt in my mind that the Bureau would accomplish tremendous achievements during his tenure.

“The Office of the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State is willing and ready to partner with the Bireau, give necessary advise and get involved in all your orientation programmes. Feel free to call on me anytime and I shall participate in your sensitization campaigns.

“Let me also use this visit to, once again, congratulate our amiable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme and the PDP family over the well deserved victory at the Supreme Court,” Aguariavwodo said.

Earlier in his address, Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Communications and Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, expressed gratitude to Senator Aguariavwodo for his political acumen and hardwork during the 2023 general elections, and for standing firm with the governor throughout his ordeal in the hands of detractors.

He emphasized the necessity for the Bureau to partner with the Office of the Senior Political Adviser, being the engine room of political mobilization and advisory services to the Governor, noting that the SPOLAD’s office plays multifaceted roles in governance.

The Bureau helmsman outlined the Bureau’s core functions, emphasizing ongoing sensitization initiatives aligned with the governor’s M.O.R.E agenda, while underscoring the objectives of the visit which is to establish a collaborative partnership with the Senior Political Adviser’s office, akin to existing collaborations with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nongovernmental Organisations, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Dr. Oghenesivbe referenced specific Orientation activities, including the “Pay Your Taxes” campaign, the “Operation Keep Delta Clean” initiative, the “Campaign Against Drug Abuse” and sanitization on the need for qualified and educated “Delta youth to enlist in the Armed Forces” in line with the MORE agenda of governor Oborevwori.

Oborevwori Approves Reconstruction Of Two Roads In Sapele

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the construction of Orhorhor road and Mr. Benjamin Aboneje Oseragbaje road, (formerly Hardock road), both in Sapele, with a promise to ensure prompt completion of the projects.

Governor Oborevwori gave the approval when he visited an octogenarian businessman, Mr Benjamin Oseragbaje, and the Publisher of Vanguard newspaper group, Mr Sam Amuka-Pemu, in Sapele on Sunday.

The Governor, who was elated to visit the elder statesmen, said he would have long visited but for the election-related disputes in court all of which had now been laid to rest by the Supreme Court.

Oborevwori said: “Daddy is somebody I have a very good relationship with for a very long time and any time I come here he always gives me good advice.

“In the course of the campaigns and cases in the court, I said when I finish all the cases in court I will come here and celebrate with him.

“Today, I am very happy to come here with the good news for him and Unce Sam: it gladdens my heart to meet Uncle Sam here.

“I came to Sapele for two reasons, one for the 60th birth anniversary of Chief Esiso and to pay you a courtesy visit. So, coming here and seeing you looking very strong with your best friend, Uncle Sam, really gladdens my heart.

“My prayer is for you to continue to be strong for us, and to Uncle Sam,who is also looking very young everyday.

On the request for reconstruction of two roads in Sapele, Governor Oborevwori said; “you have not asked me for anything before and you have made a request now for the reconstruction of two roads, the Apolo Road and Orhorhor road.

“I will direct the Commissioner for Highways and Urban Roads to come and scope the roads and I can assure you that we will treat it as very urgent.

“Like you reminded me that Sapele is in our kingdom and since I came into office eight months now, I have not done anything for Sapele and it shows that I am not sentimental.

“I am Governor for all Deltans; I look at the areas that are more pressing needs, even though everywhere in Delta State is important.This is the first request and I must deal with it by the grace of God.

“So, be rest assured that in a few months from now, the roads would be constructed.”

Welcoming the Governor, Pa Oseragbaje said he was grateful to the Governor for his friendly disposition and urged him not to allow his position create a wide gap between him and his friends.

He appealed to the Governor to help in the reconstruction of Orhorhor road and Mr. Benjamin Aboneje Oseragbaje road, emphasizing that he and the Chairman of Sapele Local Government council, Hon Eugene Inoaghan, had been shouldering their repairs.

In his remarks, Mr Amuka-Pemu commended Governor Oborevwori for his landmark achievements in his first few months on the saddle and urged him to continue with his good works.

Despite Our Diversity, Delta Remains One United State – Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has said that despite the state being populated by different ethnic groups, the state remains one united family.

Speaking at the Ozoro Country home of former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, Governor Oborevwori thanked the Isoko nation for their support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the years and for his emergence as Governor of the state.

The Governor had earlier led top government functionaries including his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi,  members of the House and other top government functionaries to the funeral ceremony of Mrs Catherine Odior, mother of the member representing Isoko North State Constituency, Hon. Bernard Odior.

He reiterated his resolve to be Governor for all Deltans and lauded Hon. Leo Ogor for being an exemplary party man.

Governor Oborevwori said: “Anytime I come here I am always very happy because there is no time I come here that you don’t receive us very well.

“When I was Speaker and I used to come here with our leader the immediate past Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, we are always happy coming here because he is somebody that likes to host his people.

“We are happy to be here in your house even though we came here for a funeral service.

“Our dear leader we thank you for always standing for the party and we pray that God will continue to bless and keep you.

“You are one leader that has been very consistent because I remember when I came here on consultation you assured me and told me to go and sleep.

“You are somebody who believes in this party and I remember when we were looking for a replacement for our late Majority Leader, and the meeting was held here for almost three hours and you eventually agreed with the choice of the system in the interest of the party.

“You are a complete party man and on behalf of the Delta State Government, I thank you for always standing for the party.

“Delta State is one united family and as I have promised, I will be Governor for all Deltans.

“I want to appreciate you and we commiserate with you on the death of the mother of Hon. Bernard Odior and it is our prayer that God will grant her soul eternal rest.”

Earlier in a sermon, at the funeral service at Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro, District Superintendent of the Christ Apostolic Church, (CAC), Pastor TBO Erhimu, said the best time to prepare for heaven and hell was while on earth and not in the grave.

He reminded the living of the need to give their lives to Christ to guarantee a place in heaven in death, stressing that there was no repentance in death.

The Cleric described the deceased as a mother that used her life for the service of God and humanity and charged her children to uphold her enviable legacies that endeared her to people while she was alive.

He commiserated with late Odior’s family on the death of their matriarch and urged them to cast their trust on God as the only one that can fill the gap created by her demise.
