Okowa, A Man After God’s Heart Says, DPG Press Secretary

Special, Assistant to Delta State governor on  Religious and Political matters and Press Secretary of Directorate of Politics and Governance, (DPG), Hon. Pastor Augustine Obiodogwu, has described the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa as a man after God’s heart.

Obiodogwu made this known while speaking with Journalists in Israel.

He said the magnanimous gesture of  Sen. Okowa towards Pilgrims to the Holy land was evident of his love for God.

While commending the governor for giving Nigerians the opportunity to walk some the parts Jesus walked while on earth, he said it has helped to improve on the spiritual life of the Pilgrims.

He said the likes of Okowa are meant to be in leadership position and prayed God to make his electoral ambition a success.

He also appreciated the secretary to the state governor, Chief Patrick Ukah for his commitment to the development of the state and for availing him the opportunity to be part of the Pilgrims.

On his part, Assistant Director of  Protocol, DPG, Apostle Dr. Liberty Usiayo said he was grateful to God as the election victory of PDP is sure adding that God would make it come through for every candidate of the Party.

Usiayo urged all Nigerian to ensure they get their PVC to vote in PDP  at the poll.

At 71,I have Many Reasons To Be Grateful, Says Modupe Lawale

The Chief Executive Officer of Emmanuel Tours, Mrs Modupe Lawale has revealed reasons behind her gratitude to God.

Mrs Modupe made this known while speaking with Pressmen in Nazareth.

She said the  countless blessings of God  upon her life was the reason for the grand style celebration.

According to the  celebrant, God has been so merciful to her, adding that blessing her at the age of 53 with a child, good friends, family, sound health and prosperity was enough to thank God.

As an achiever of great success who started her career in the late 70s with one of the national media and upon her retirement started a travel agency and tour operation she said it was her prayer to witness more colourful years.

According to her,  she had earlier desired to celebrate her 70th birthday in the Holy Land,  but was not possible because of the outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic, but was grateful to God for making in possible for  her to celebrate her 71 anniversary in the Holy land.

Mrs Modupe said she was optimistic of more years to come and expectant of God’s hands upon her life, radiant; strong and also to have  Christ  in her life.

Cleric Lauds Okowa’s Contribution Towards Pilgrimage

The Anglican Priest of Ika Dioceses and bus captain of Delta Pilgrimage Bus one,  Rev. Daniel Egun has charged Pilgrims to be more spiritually minded so as to possess their heart desire.

Egun gave the charge while speaking with our reporter at Capernaum, the city of Jesus.

He said it would bring their expectations to them, adding the spiritual controls the physical.

The Cleric revealed that the spiritual journey was an eye opener of all that was written in the Bible and a preparation of one’s sojourn on earth as they journey through to the promise Land.

According to him, it gives the Pilgrims a biblical opportunity to expose themselves to the Christian belief and thought of the Lord Jesus, whom he described as the owner of man’s life.

Egun commended the state government, ably led by Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for finding them worthy to be part of the exercise, adding that Okowa had done excellently well by approving the pilgrimage.

According to him, unlike some Pilgrims from Lagos State who personally sponsored themselves with huge sum of money, Sen. Okowa ensured that Deltans and some other states contingents had the privilege of visiting the holy land of Israel, which called for much appreciation.

Delta South 2023: Ejele Seals Victory In The Holy Land

The February 25 Presidential and National Assembly election of Honourable Michael Diden, (Ejele) into the Senate for the Delta South Senatorial seat under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has received heaven’s attention in the holy land as fervent prayers have been made for him.


The second batch of pilgrims from Delta State presently in the holy land of Jordan and Israel visited several biblical sites where miracles and the raw acts of God was manifested in the bible days, where they interceded for him.


Hon. Diden who is currently running to represent Delta South Senatorial seat in the red chambers had his intention tabled before God for him to secure victory at the poll.


The Personal Assistant to the PDP Delta Senatorial Candidate on Religious Matters, Dr Raphael Ogunyemi led a special prayer for Hon. Michael Diden’s victory at Mount Nebo in Jordan.


Mount Nebo is the mountain where God showed Moses the promised land,a land flowing with milk and honey as recorded in Deuteronomy 34:6.


Speaking to newsmen after the prayer session, Dr Ogunyemi said the prayer was made because Hon. Michael Diden believes in God and the efficacy of prayers and nothing else for his victory at the polls.


He noted that the way and manner Diden successfully won the PDP primaries to secure the Delta South senatorial ticket was made possible by God, hence those that believes in his leadership qualities and capacity to deliver on promises made have found time to pray for his victory at the holy land for the February 25 polls.


Dr Ogunyemi said Delta South Senatorial district deserves the best of representation and deserves no other person at this critical time than Hon. Michael Diden who had always kept his promises to the people added that a vote for Ejele was a vote for true representation, youth and women empowerment, unbiased representation, attraction of federal government to the development needs of the people and delivery of constituency programmes and projects.


While maintaining that Hon. Michael Diden was not a tribalistic persons, Dr Ogunyemi said the former lawmaker does not discriminate against anybody, ethnic groups or religion adding that his arms and gates were always wide open to receive people.


He recalled that while Diden was at the Delta State House of Assembly, he attracted several development programmes and projects to Warri North Constitutency adding that the Isokos, Ijaws, Itsekiris and the Urhobos in the Delta South senatorial district were in for the better days again if they give him the mandate to represent them.


Dr Ogunyemi appealed to the people of Delta South Senatorial district to come out enmasse and vote for Hon. Michael Diden describing him as a man with passion for the political emancipation of his people in order to secure more practical development.


At every biblical sites, Pilgrims made prayers and supplications to God in relation to their heart desires and sometimes drop written prayer points on those spots.

Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Mr Hussaini Bauta has enjoined Pilgrims to the Holy Land of Isreal not to consider abscondment as a choice, rather they should explore more other ways of empowering themselves.


Bauta gave the advise while speaking with our correspondent in Amman, Jordan.


He urged them not to think about it as any attempt to elope, would tarnish the image of the country and their families.


He urged them to be true ambassadors of Nigeria and conduct themselves as they journey to Israel adding that it is evident that Nigerians are respectful people an hardworking.


Bauta said, aside the spiritual impact they stand to benefit from the pilgrimage, they can key into some of the agricultural skills practiced in Israel when they get back to Nigeria.


He added that there were many Nigerian Pilgrims who had become successful in Nigeria after taking advantage of all they experience during their visit.


The Executive Secretary said he was optimistic that they would achieve spiritual renewal in their lives and that every Pilgrim would be edified in the Pilgrimage.


He said the Bible would be coming alive and also their hope and faith increases by the touching the places Jesus walked and seeing some of the land mark miracles that took place before and after Jesus time on earth.


While expressing gratitude to the Delta State governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the state Chairman of the Board for extending a hand of fellowship and their magnanimity to other Nigerians to be inclusive in the spiritual exercise.
Describing the act as a true mark of leadership, he prayed God to continue to grant them the grace to continue to be a blessing to generations.

 Former Chairman South South, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) and former Chairman, Delta State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Archbishop Goddowell Awomakpa has charged Christians to eschew anger so as not to invoke the wrath of God.

 Archbishop Awomakpa gave the charge while ministering to the second batch of the December 2022 Pilgrims at Mount Nebo, Jordan.

He said anger not controlled would mean them distancing from God, adding that inspite of all Moses did but was could not get to the promise Land because of his anger.

He urged them to look out for every prevailing sin in their lives so as not to be hindered of their blessing.

The Cleric admonished them not to allow their emotions rule over them in decision making, so as not to make wrong choices.

He advised them to always look up to God when they have any problem, as he is the only one who can change every ugly situation.

Highlight of the meeting was prayer session for the victorious electoral ambition of the State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and the revival of the Country.

The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution,  Rev. Godspower Agbuduta has enjoined Nigerians to live in love and unity.

Agbuduta gave the advise while speaking with Pressmen on arrival from some of the Holy sites in Jordan.

He said with the wonders of God and the loving life style of the Jordanians, which was worth emulating, it is ideal for Nigerian to do away with every form of bitterness and discrimination.

While speaking on the significance of the holy sites as it relates to the lives of Christians, he said it teaches them to be humble and righteous in all they  do as Christians, adding that they must learn to live in love and unity with people around then

He said despite the fact that Christians were six percent out of the 10 million population in Jordan, they control the affairs of the country because they do the right things.

He charged them to pray God to give Nigerians the right leaders that would rescue the country and take it to it’s former glory.

Describing governor Okowa as the man that is never wrong but is not Jesus Christ and a listener, he commended he for contributing to the lives of other Christians in the North.

He said Atiku Okowa ticket is one centered to redeeming the country through Okowa, a believer and Christian.

NCPC Boss Extols Virtues Of His Predecessor

The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has extolled the virtues of his predecessor, Evangelist Tor Uja  the  former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.

The NCPC boss made this known in Makurdi, Benue State this weekend during the reception and thanksgiving organized by the  Council of Christian Elders in conjunction with the Government of Benue State for Evangelist Tor Uja.

He  stated that the history of NCPC would be incomplete without recognizing the wonderful role Tor Uja played in the development of the Commission.

His words,” minus your role in the Commission, the history of NCPC will never be complete, you have done marvelously well”, he said.

Rev Pam further averred that in terms of administration his predecessor did a very good work.

Rev Pam further described Tor Uja as a  very good excellent administrator, who served as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission from 2015 to 2019.

He prayed that Evangelist Tor Uja would not go down but will shine again..

He used the opportunity of the reception to urge the Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom to sponsor Christians in the state on Pilgrimage to the Holy land, stating that the Commission had just airlifted the fifth batch of intending pilgrims to Israel and Jordan.

He said the Pilgrimage exercise would afford the Governor the rare opportunity to go to Israel with the intending pilgrims to thank God for the great things he had done.

He commended the Governor for his love towards his people and for standing with his own and appreciated the Council of Christian Elders for the honour and solidarity for their own.

In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom described the celebrant as a man who has maintained his integrity as a child of God and as a Christian, who is also a worthy example to emulate.

He further hinted that the celebrant had consistent record of following Christ.

In his admonition, the Governor urged the celebrant to continue to serve God and should look unto him and should not look back. He further urged him to be focused and always do what the Lord wants him to do

NCPC, Boys’ Brigade To Promote Unity In The Body Of Christ

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC has promised to synergise  with  the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria to promote unity in the Body of Christ.

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam made the disclosure in Abuja on 26th January, 2023 while playing host to the National President of the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria, Prof.Samson Duna who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The NCPC boss affirmed that the two organizations are non denominational and should collaborate to advance the cause of Christianity in Nigeria.

He lauded the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria for maintaining the culture of discipline over the years and called on other uniform bodies to emulate the standard achieved by the Boys ‘ Brigade.

The NCPC helmsman said that the Commission remains the only apex Christian faith based Agency that has direct link with the Presidency and the Church.

He reaffirmed that the Commission was unique in the whole of West Africa as it was saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the activities of Christians in Nigeria and ensure the smooth movement of Christians to the Holy Sites around the world for the purpose of performing Pilgrimage exercise.

He explained that under his watch he had been able to use the NCPC platform to foster peace and unity across the country and had intervened in some  peace mediation roles  in some parts of the country.

He assured that the Commission would collaborate with the Boys ‘ Brigade of Nigeria in the area of spirituality, events , music and taking care of the aged pilgrims during Pilgrimage in the Holy land.

Earlier, the National President of the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria, Prof. Samson Duna commended Rev Pam for his sterling giant strides at NCPC.

” You have done quite a lot , the hiccups we use to have when we travel to Israel is no longer there since you took over  the mantle of leadership of the Commission “, he said.

Prof. Duna hinted that the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria was established in 1908 with the mandate to provide leadership training for youths in productive ventures and inculcate in them the fear of God and service to humanity.

He averred that the Boys Brigade of Nigeria is non denominational.

He solicited for a robust collaboration between NCPC and the Boys’Brigade of Nigeria to promote unity in the Christendom.

He further explained that the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria would be able to add value to the services of the Commission in meaningful areas.

Prof Duna also doubles as the Director General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute, NBRRI, Abuja, was accompanied on the visit by the National Officers of the Brigade.
