Gbagi Shutdown Commercial Activities, as His Free Fuel Distribution Continues In Warri

Commercial activities were temporarily brought to a halt for over five hours, as the campaign trail of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), gubernatorial candidate, His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, stormed Adane Associated Co. Limited, a fuel station on Deco Road Warri, Delta State.

The renowned philanthropist, was at the petrol station on Tuesday January 17th 2023, to dole out Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), to motorcycle and tricycle operators to alleviate the hardship the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) inflicted on Deltans.

However, the motorcycle and tricycle operators otherwise known as Okada and Keke riders turned the gesture into a carnival as they closed down businesses, shut down the streets and chanted the former minister’s name, “Gbagi for governor”, repeatedly.

The crowd grew unexpectedly for Olorogun Gbagi, a wealthy businessman with a reputation for being frugal and have emerged as a powerful force ahead of Delta State governorship election in March.

Everywhere he goes, he energized voters with messages of prudence and accountability that are amplified by an army of social movement.

In his parley with the transporters, they eulogized his good works during his time as minister and his exploits at Delta Property Development Authority (DDPA), while those who knew him as former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, said he left a gap since he left the position.

The transporters said that they were looking forward to experiencing the same commitment from the largest private investor in the State and his government come March after winning the governorship election.

Gbagi was a minister of education, where he created 13 Universities including the Federal University of Petroleum (FUPRE), 14 Polytechnic, 8 federal girls colleges and 16 Federal Colleges of Education.

He rebuilt and equipped an ICT center in Urhobo College, donated N10 million to Government College, Ughelli and as former minister of state for Education, rebuilt federal government college, Warri.

Though, these schools were not in Olorogun Gbagi’s schedule, he showed commitment aimed at ensuring that they exist and function.

He fought against the relocation of PTI from Warri to Kaduna State.

He was welcomed in the most joyous of ways with jubilant crowd, chanting and singing songs with his name, causing a heavy gridlock on the Deco road.

Some beneficiaries of Gbagi’s unprecedented gesture, said with him, Delta State would be made an industrial hub, saying that because of him, thousands of youths are no longer on the street.

Mr. Friday Onoboro, an Isoko indigene who resides in Warri, said: “Gbagi, has tried and we will vote so he could be the next governor of the state

Another recipient, Mr. Edward, from Okumagba, said: “I feel very happy and I am going to vote for him. I really appreciate him and he is going to be the next governor of Delta State”.

A receiver of the kind gesture, Mr. Samson, noted: “to be sincere, I am happy with Olorogun Gbagi. I know it is not every governorship candidate that is going to do this and I believe with this, he is going to do well as governor.

“Actually for him to have opened Robinson Gbagi Plaza, with the number of people that are working here, it is an employment for our youths.

“Among all the governorship candidates, he is the only one that I have benefited from. On the day of the election, I will vote for him and I want people to remember him”.

Another payee, Godwin expressed satisfaction with the gesture, “I am happy. My brother has a shop in this Plaza, this is where he earn his daily living.

“In this whole state, people that Gbagi removed from suffering are numerous, especially the youths, they should vote for him”.

Also, Mr. Christopher Odueze, said: “Gbagi, is a good man. I call on everyone to join hands and vote for him to be our governor”.

Equally, David, expressed gratitude to Gbagi, for giving him free fuel, saying it would go a long way in assisting him for the day’s business, “the man that gave us free fuel, will do well as governor”.

Mr. Joseph Onota, said: “we call on Deltans to vote for Gbagi, for giving us free fuel”.

Chukwuebuka, who displayed his Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), said: “Gbagi, is the governorship candidate that will win, nobody else”.

In same vein, Mr. Gift, said: “This is so wonderful and I believe that if we puts our heads together, a good leader like Gbagi, will be our next governor. We are going to use our powers by God’s grace to give him our full support and we pray that God will give us a leader such as him”.

A tricycle operator, Godwin, said: “I am happy with Gbagi, for the free fuel he gave to me, I will vote for him to be governor. Deltans vote for Gbagi, he will be a good governor”.

Mr. Bernard, who insisted that the SDP governorship candidate has no rival hinted: “Gbagi, is the one that must become governor, no one has what it takes to challenge him”.

Miss Loveth equally called on Deltans to give Gbagi, their votes so he could come out victorious at the polls.

“We will vote for Gbagi and he will win the election. This is his time, as he wins the election, everything will be smooth for us in Jesus name”, she declared.

Don’t Bow To Tinubu’s Slavery, Aniagwu Advises Nigerians

The Spokesperson of PDP Presidential Campaign Council,  Atiku Campaign Organisation, Mr Charles Aniagwu has advised Nigerians not to submit themselves to the enslavement  of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Aniagwu, gave the advice during a press conference with Journalists in Asaba, Delta State.

He said Nigerians would be subjecting themselves to internal slavery if they allowed Tinubu to become Nigerian president.

He urged the masses not to allow Tinubu’s dictatorship style of leadershipcontinue, adding that the APC Presidential candidate with his family controls the revenue of Lagos State and was looking for a means to extend same control on the other 35 states of the country.

He admonished Nigerians to avoid repeating the mistake Lagosians made by allowing him control everything that happens in the entire state.

According to Aniagwu, most of the major projects and programmes, such as the signage, BRT, collection of taxes, amongst others in Lagos were  controlled by Tinubu and his family.

“Needn’t I mention other sources of revenue that Lagos should have benefited from and you also know how he handpicks those who will govern Lagos to the extent that Ambode, a man that was doing well was taken out because he disagreed with them on how to share the funds of the people of Lagos.” He said.

He said for such a person to aspire to govern our country, it will be very detrimental to all of us.

“If we don’t want to submit ourselves to slavery, Nigerians must stop Tinubu from crossing Lagos into the other 35 states and the FCT because that will amount to internal slavery for all of us where he alone will determine the next President and who gets what and not forces of democratic governance”.

“Our forefathers fought the slave masters and colonial masters and chased them away to where they came from, so we cannot afford to enthrone internal slave masters who will decide how the country would be governed”.

“As part of that unbridled quest to expand his grip and capture the states, they have cooked up stories because they have seen that Nigerians are convinced that Atiku Abubakar is a man that has what it takes to recover this country and place it on the path of growth and development.

“They have gone to wake up a blackmailer and they call him a whistle blower. Am sure that as journalists you know who a whistle blower is and who a blackmailer is.

According to him, the acclaimed whistle blower, Michael Achimugu was not a staff of Atiku Abubakar, he was a staff of one of the support groups with Atiku’s daughter, he was not employed to work for Atiku Abubakar.

“If all he does is to record his boss and his friend and you call that whistle blowing, all of you know that is not whistle blowing but blackmail and anybody who is a blackmailer cannot be taken seriously and we are not perturbed because it was not done with the intention to help our country”, he said.

He said as a campaign council we know what the issues are, that our youths are loosing their jobs and more than 133 million Nigerians were suffering from what they call multi-dimensional poverty and the economy was not in the best of shape while our unity is terribly challenged.

These challenges, he said bedevilling the nation were of utmost concern and how to solve them and not engage in mundane issues.

“There is also the need for our children to have the best of education to curb the ‘Jappa’ syndrome and of course to progress the country from a consumption atmosphere to a much more productive environment.

“Our desire is to get our economy working again, unite Nigerians against divisive tendencies, fix infrastructure, address insecurity which has stiffled productivity and weakened our fabrics as a nation.

“In doing so we will amend the constitution give way for state police and other matters. The APC has not given the country any hope in the past let alone renewing it so we cannot afford to allow them enslave the rest of the country,” he said.

“Any attempt to raise issues that doesn’t add up so that they can have their way to enslave the rest of us, we are asking Nigerians to be weary of him and ask Lagosians what they are going through in his hands”.

Ukodhiko Urges Isoko Nation To Unite Ahead Of 2023 Polls, Presents Scorecard

Immediate past Commissioner for Energy in Delta State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general election, Pastor Engr. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has called on the Isoko nation to unite towards the emergence of credible candidates at the upcoming polls, while saying that his scorecard demonstrates that he has the capacity to engender laws that will address the developmental challenges of the area and attract the dividends of democracy.

Ukodhiko, who is the Founder of Joeny Holdings Group Limited and UJA Homes Incoporated, said that as a philanthropist, clergy man and lover of humanity, he has been in the earnest endeavour of impacting lives positively.

While pledging greater service to Isoko nation at the green Chambers in Abuja. He said, “God knows that I am out to serve my people. I don’t have any other ambition, rather than to serve my people. I did not wake up one morning and just decided to leave what I was doing.  By God’s grace, I have built companies and engaged in meaningful investments”.

On his plans to render quality service, as well as value-addition, he posited that, for him, politics should be devoid of self-serving pursuits or issues that are personal, but working and making sacrifices for the general good.

The Owhelogbo-born politician recalled his upbringing and character over the years, declaring that, “Jonathan Ukodhiko has not changed because I can never change; that is my nature.  I was groomed to render services to my people. I remember when I was in the village, I was a unifier amongst the youths”.

On his ambition, he said, “when I look at what is happening in  Isoko nation, it is very, very painful because we are a wonderful nation that God  has blessed so much, so we have all it takes to achieve the desired development. I strongly believe that things can be changed. Ukodhiko, therefore urged his compatriots to eschew bitterness and divisiveness so as to move Isoko nation forward, while saying that the town hall meetings in every community is intended to heal wounds and to carry the people along as he marches on with his desire to represent Isoko nation at the Federal legislature.

Giving account of his stewardship as Commissioner, Ukodhiko said, “some people don’t know what I did within seven to eight months. Before I left office, I awarded the contract to fix areas that were not reached, such as Ofagbe and Oyede. The electricity supply to Kwale and Ogume was the same power that supplied Isoko. As a Commissioner, I removed Isoko from the whole of Kwale and merged it with Abraka  that has a lesser load, so that whenever there is power, Isoko people would be able to enjoy it.  I awarded that contract before I left office and work is ongoing, in ensuring regular power supply”.£

“When I came into office, the 132 KVA that was awarded to take power from DSC down to Isoko had been abandoned.  I wrote to the CBN through BEDC because there was an intervention fund that could be accessed to obtain the power facilities and by God’s grace, we were able to secure about N36 billion through that intervention fund. There are other facilities which needed to be upgraded, so through Effurun, they are going to upgrade through Obosi, also Delta North, Delta Central to Delta South; all of which were secured and work is ongoing. I also discussed with the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on proper activation, so by the time these projects are completed, it will be of great relief to our communities.”

“If you go to Ozoro right now, they are developing some low-cost houses, meaning that it is attracting development. When I came into office as Commissioner, I found out that electricity was an exclusive preserve of the Federal Government. I and the Delta State Ministry of Energy drew up a bill, worked with the House of Assembly and Governor Okowa signed it into law, thus empowering Deltans to generate, transmit and distribute power. I am one of the people that pushed for power to be removed from the exclusive list. I am setting up structures from the ward to unit level, so we can be engaging the people continuously, especially the youths and to give them the opportunity to owe this project.”, he said

He concluded by saying, ”I am very accessible and that will remain  part of my life”. Let us work together and push ahead with giving our people a sense of belonging, while Ukodhiko maintained that Isoko nation has no business with poverty, or needless crisis, but he promised to effect a new dawn through quality representation.
