Concerned Isoko PDP Faithful Demand Disciplinary Action Against PDP State Youth Leader, Egbo For Anti Party Activities

By Patrick Ochei

Youths of Isoko extraction under the name, Concerned Isoko PDP Youth Faithful have called on the State leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to immediately commence disciplinary action against the State Youth Leader of the party, Mr. Victor Egbo for openly indulging in anti party activities against the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency.

This demand was made in a press briefing on the 1st of January, 2023, to draw the attention of party leaders and stakeholders on the possibility of breakdown of law and order should the Youth Leader continue in such impunity and lawlessness against the party that puts food on his table.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Amb. Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole condemned the deliberate actions of the State PDP Youth Leader, Mr Victor Egbo whom he said, had veered off the tenets of Party loyalty and supremacy by undermining Isoko PDP with actions capable of ridiculing her much cherished respect for constitutional democracy.

He stated that “It is with utter disappointment that we members of the Isoko PDP Youth Faithful are calling on the Leadership of Delta State PDP to review and take steps to forestall anti party activities in public glare as demonstrated by Victor Egbo when he endorsed the candidature of the SDP flagbearer in Isoko Federal Constituency.

“It is no longer news that Victor Egbo who is currently the PDP Youth Leader, attended an SDP campaign function in Oleh on the 30th December, 2022, where he openly campaigned against the PDP House of Representatives flagbearer by calling on the entire Oleh people to vote against him as our party’s candidate over a campaign altercation between individuals. This is unacceptable.

“It is of common knowledge that the Delta State PDP has it that the PDP Youth Leader has toed this shameful path that calls for disciplinary actions. He has not been able to muster the courage to challenge or reply candidates of the opposition who have been throwing tantrums on Governor Okowa, Sheriff Oborevwori and other PDP candidates, but he was quick to run to SDP campaign rally to pitch the people against the very party that gave him platform as a Youth Leader. For us as Isoko Youths, we take serious exception to these ignoble acts”, he affirmed.

Still furious over why the PDP Youth Leader should play the path that he is currently playing, Ogheneyole allegedly recalled that the same Victor Egbo was the person who packaged a Labour Party faithful to gain cheap popularity by embarrassing the Governor and Vice Presidential candidate with a rejected appointment.

He said that the confidence of the youths is waning with Victor Egbo remaining at the helms of affairs of Youth leadership in the State, insisting that he is a bad omen for the party ahead of the coming general elections.

His words, “We are worried by this disloyal act that tends to bring our party to disrepute. Victor Egbo needs to show cause why he went that low. We are law abiding party loyalists who are only calling for things to be done right as Victor Egbo’s action did not represent the true Isoko spirit.

“We urge our party at the state level to review and evaluate this issue by meting out appropriate sanctions to forestall such ludicrous vetuperation. We remain law abiding and waiting for our party’s response; however, we are always here to defend the ethics and tenets of our party at all times”, Ogheneyole added.

Victor Egbo Must Be Disciplined For Anti Party, Says Ogheneyole

The Spokesperson of Concerned Isoko PDP Youth Faithful, Amb. Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole has called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State to review and take steps to forestall anti party activities in public glare as recently demonstrated by the state PDP Youth leader Mr Victor Egbo.

Amb. Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole gave the call while  addressing Journalists in Asaba.

Ogheneyole said the  PDP Youth leader had toed a shameful path which was unacceptable, hence the need for disciplinary actions against him.

He said the endorsement of the candidature of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) flag bearer in Isoko federal constituency by Egbo was not right.

While frowning at the deliberate actions of the Party Youth Leader, the concerned PDP member of Isoko extraction, urged the Party at the state level to revise the issue and met appropriate sanctions to forestall such act.

According to Comrade Yole, Egbo had veered off the tenets of Party loyalty and supremacy by undermining Isoko PDP with actions capable of ridiculing our much cherishes respect for constitutional democracy.

Expressing disappointment, Comrade Yole said that members of the group were  not pleased with his actions, adding that the current PDP Youth leader attended an SDP campaign function in Oleh on Friday, December 30, 2022 where he openly campaign against the PDP House of Representatives flag bearer, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko and called on the entire people people of Oleh to vote against Ukodhiko over a campaign altercations between individuals.

According to the Spokesperson, Egbo could not monster the courage to challenge or reply candidates of the opposition who had been throwing tantrums on the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, the governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff  Oborevwori and other PDP candidates but was quick to run to SDP campaign gathering to pitch the people against the very Party that gave him a platform as a Youth leader.

Expressing worry over the disloyal act which tends to bring disrepute to the Party and a bad omen ahead of elections, he said Egbo should be disciplined.

He added that Egbo was the same person who packaged a Labour Party faithful to gain cheap popularity by embarrassing the state Governor and vice Presidential candidates over an appointment.

MD Fidelity Fortune Group, Prince Ozoma Gives Scholarship To Issele-Uku Undergraduates To Commemorate Obi Nduka’s 6th Coronation Anniversary

By Patrick Ochei

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Fidelity Fortune Group of Companies, Prince Ibe Ozoma has given scholarship awards to 18 undergraduates of Issele-Uku origin to the tune of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (#200,000.00) each to the beneficiaries, amounting to #3.6 million.

The US and Nigerian based philanthropist also gave a consolation sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000.00) each to eight others who participated in the selection exam but didn’t pass, insisting there was no way he could have left them empty handed without encouraging them to do better next time.

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries from different higher institutions of learning, Prince Ozoma revealed that he asked God earlier in life, that if He gave him power to overcome poverty, he would be an instrument of help to people, especially those struggling to create their own paths in life.

He said apart from his regular four years scholarship to new university entrants up to graduation, he instituted this special scholarship in commemoration of Agbogidi Obi Nduka’s coronation anniversary, which is 29th every December

Ozoma urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate his gestures by remembering to give back to society when they start making it in life.

According to him, the screening of enrollees in the coming year would be stricter in order to ensure that every applicant produces evidence of studentship as a paramount criteria.

While feeling sad about the current state of education in Nigeria, he advised parents to always ensure to visit their children at school to ascertain if they are actually there and studying too.

In appreciation of the immense contribution of Prince Ibe Ozoma to the human capital development of Issele-Uku people, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka commended him for having a scholarship in his honour and using it to mark his anniversary.

Obi Nduka prayed for Ozoma, asking God and the Ancestors of Issele-Uku to keep blessing him to remain relevant in all spheres of human endeavour for the benefit of humanity.

He challenged the beneficiaries to imbibe the attitude of gratitude whenever they remember that the scholarship was sponsored by somebody who meant well for them and by extension, the community.

Happy that majority of the beneficiaries understood Issele-Uku dialect, Obi Nduka urged them to try to help somebody in future, knowing that they were helped at a point in their lives.

His words, “It is good for the helped to know that he was helped. This scholarship award is as a result of sincere passion for the growth of humanity and community development.

“Prince Ibe Ozoma has narrated to us how he sponsored somebody through school about 25 years ago, and the person is doing well in life but nowhere to be found with regards to being a contributor to the development of others and the community even without showing gratitude to his source of bright life.

“You must be proud that you are from Issele-Uku. You must realise that you have been helped. You must also endeavour to help others in future. When you are helped in life, you in turn become an instrument of help to others going forward. That way, we have more people supporting the development of our people and the growth of our community.

“Once again, I beg you to please, use the money given wisely to advance your education. Congratulations”, Obi Nduka advised.

The highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries, starting with the overall best in the exam, Miss Nwosu Isioma Excel.

The cheques were presented by Obi Nduka, Chief Dominic Egbune (Anya Obi of Issele-Uku), Prince Ibe Ozoma (the benefactor) and Ogbelani Diokpa Isimchei Okonkwo, with series of goodwill messages from Issele-Uku Development Union, IDU National President, Mr. Ofordile Ugeh, Issele-Uku Progressive Youth Association (IPYA) Abuja Chapter, Mr. Felix Okolie, Diokpa Jebose Adigwe, etc.

The event which held at the Multipurpose Royal Hall inside the Issele-Uku Royal Palace, was attended by the village heads led by the Ogbelani Issei, Diokpa Isimchei Okonkwo, the chiefs, illustrious sons and daughters of Issele-Uku, including Mr. Henry Unobukwu, Prince Mike Akeh, and others too numerous to mention.

The Prince Ibe Ozoma Foundation has been in the business of giving scholarships over 25 years ago. For this particular edition which is attached to the coronation anniversaries of Agbogidi Obi Nduka, the Screening/Nomination Committee was headed by a Federal Director with the Teachers Registration Council and wife of the PG of IDU, Mrs. Ofordile Ugeh.

368 Delta Pilgrims To Visit Israel, Jordan

Barely five months after the last pilgrimage exercise the Delta State government is set to sponsor another set of Pilgrims to the Holy land.

Indications are high that the state government has concluded plans to sponsor and airlift no fewer than 368 Pilgrims to the holy lands of Israel and Jordan.

At a screening exercise for the intending Pilgrims conducted yesterday in Asaba, the state capital, the Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Johnbull Edema, he state that the state government continuous sponsorship of pilgrimage in the state is an indication of the state governor’s acknowledgment of the impact of the exercise to both the commitment and dedication to the service.

While commending the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for his persisting in the exercise, Edema enjoined the intending pilgrims to reciprocated the state government’s gesture by remaining good ambassador of the state and country.

Underscoring the importation of the exercise to the state, Edema particularly enjoined the intending Pilgrims to ensure that while at the Holy land they should take out time to pray for the state government and country particularly the coming election.

On his part the Special Adviser to the state governor and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Snr Apostle Sylvanus Okorote charged them to endeavor to give the right details so as not to be disqualified in the exercise.

Okorote said they should understand that they were going on a spiritual retreat , hence they should remember the state governor in their prayer as he embarks of his political campaign.

2023: With PDP Nigerians’ll Not Be Hungry – Okowa

Vice-Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Delta, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa has urged Nigerians to vote Atiku Abubakar and all PDP candidates in the 2023 elections to ensure that prevailing hunger, poverty and insecurity in the country were eliminated.
Okowa made the call on Thursday at the party’s campaign at Oshimili North and Oshimili South Local Government Areas of the state, and said that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government had taken Nigerians many years backwards with its inept administration.
He said that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had destroyed the nation’s socio-economic system, including the educational sector where the government allowed university lecturers to be on strike for eight months.
According to him, because God sanctioned my nomination for Vice-Presidency and put me on the PDP presidential ticket, He has finished the work for us.
“Aside the fact that PDP gave us the Vice-Presidential ticket which we have not seen since the creation of Delta and even Bendel, we need to work hard to justify that confidence reposed in us.
“In 2019, Delta produced the highest votes for the PDP in South-South and this time that we have been given Vice Presidential ticket, it is our duty to double the votes because the APC has spoilt Nigeria with hunger, insecurity, disunity, ASUU strike and that’s not what we want as a country.
“The APC has no human face, they are angry that we are empowering our youths and women with skills to enable them own their businesses and become employers of labour.
“If God put you in position of authority you need to lead with a human face and that is why Atiku-Okowa ticket will bring Nigerians out of hunger and poverty,” he said.
On the governorship election, Okowa said that the party was supporting Sherrif Oborevwori and Monday Onyeme because they were politicians with worthy characters.
“We have been uniting Delta by working everywhere in unity and as I am leaving, an Urhobo man is coming and I know that he has common sense and he is very humble.
“I have known Sheriff Oborevwori for over 21 years and God has been very helpful to him to have become the longest serving Speaker in the history of our state.
“We will pepper APC with our votes and we will elect all candidates of the PDP to continue our youth empowerment programmes.
“I thought that as we are empowering the people, the APC will appreciate us but they are complaining, and no wonder they are using hunger to kill our people,” he added.
He accused the Deputy President of the Senate and APC Governorship Candidate in the state for lying to Deltans that his administration didn’t do anything in Asaba.
“Sometime ago, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, came to Asaba and tried to deceive our people that we didn’t do anything in Asaba.
“When I heard his lies I began to wonder whether he was referring to the same Asaba that we built roads, a modern State Secretariat , Dennis Osadebay University, Leisure Park, Film Village and Zoo.
“Need we talk about the Flyover and Interchange at Koka Junction? But I am particularly happy about the storm drainage project which has deflooded Asaba and environs.
“As we have done in Asaba so we are replicating it in Warri, Effurun and environs and so we have decided as a party to support a grassroots politician, an amiable and humble personality in Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to continue from where we will stop.”
The Governorship Candidate, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, on his part, said he had learnt a lot from Governor Okowa, and assured that he would deploy the experience garnered over the years to bear in the administration of the state.
“In politics there is time and seasons and the past seven and half years have been very awesome because I went through the Okowa political school.
“Those that knew me before 2015 and now know the difference, I have learnt to be more humble and I have also learnt how to listen more and that’s how I was able to lead the assembly successfully in the last 6 years.
“Many people have passed through this school and I have passed through it successfully and I have been given a certificate to take over the mantle of leadership of this state.
“I will consolidate on what Okowa has done with my MORE Agenda and I can assure you that I will not disappoint Deltans with the confidence reposed in me. I want to assure you that I will keep to my MORE Agenda because it is my covenant with Deltans,” Oborevwori stated.
He commended the Anioma nation for supporting Delta Central for the governorship ticket and assured that he would not disappoint Deltans.
State Chairman of the party, Chief Kingsley Esiso, said he was happy that the people of Oshimili North and Oshimili South were totally committed to the liberation of Nigerians from the shackles of poverty and insecurity created by the APC-led administration.
“I am happy and convinced because from the crowd here today there is no other political party in this local government.
“I am happy because the people of this local government have rejected the APC with their hunger, poverty and insecurity and this time around the PDP is on a mission to reset and rebuild Nigeria.
“APC came with their lies and propaganda and destroyed Nigeria and by the grace of God and by your support APC will never happen to Nigeria again.
“Nigerians have decided to join the rescue train of the PDP with Atiku Abubakar as the Chief Driver and Deltans are particularly happy with the ticket because since the creation of Nigeria nobody from the state has ever been selected to be Presidential running mate.
“But our own performing Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta will produce the next Vice-President.
“Having destroyed our economy, security and social life, the APC is bringing a sick man to come and cure a sick country, we will not allow them,” Esiso stated.
Director-General of the State Campaign Council, Chief Funkekeme Solomon urged Nigerians to reject the APC at all levels adding that the APC had so deceived our people and rubbished the work done by the PDP over time.
At Akwukwu-Igbo, a former chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Mr John Azike, and no fewer than 100 members of the party, defected to the PDP.
Azulike, who addressed the mammoth crowd, said he was joining the PDP alongside his supporters to support Governor Okowa who “is a Vice-President in waiting.
“We are also supporting the PDP because of the incoming Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, who has presided over the state Assembly for years without any crisis,” he stated.

6th Edition: June Odika Presents Christmas Gifts To Widows In Issele-Uku And Onicha-Ugbo

… Receives Agbogidi Obi Nduka’s Royal Prayers

By Patrick Ochei

Issele-Uku Royal Palace once again for the sixth time, was a beehive of activities as no less than a thousand widows from Issele-Uku and Onicha-Ugbo communities of Aniocha North LGA, gathered to receive their yearly Christmas packages from a renowned Lagos and UK based Evangelist June Odika.

Every 24th December, Evangelist Odika would gather widows in Issele-Uku for empowerment through her foundation – June Vision.

This year’s edition being the sixth, was different as she reached out to widows in Onicha-Ugbo to be part of the programme while hoping to include Issele-Mkpitime in the list by next year.

As usual, it started with prayers and then praise and worship, followed by a word of exhortation by Pastor Sunday Ikelede.

Pastor Ikelede had dwelt extensively on forgiveness and love in his preaching, insisting that God can never abandon any widow who genuinely trusts Him and possesses the character of love for her neighbours.

He challenged them to change for good and begin to see the difference in their lives as it concerns their children, welfare and health.

Pleased with the consistency of love being showered annually on widows by Evangelist June Odika through her Widows For Christ Project, the Traditional Ruler of Issele-Uku Kingdom, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka prayed for her to continue to break barriers to achieve her desires in life.

Worried by the high cost of commodities in the market, Obi Nduka wondered how she was able to buy and ship the number of bags of rice to go round the widows in Issele-Uku and Onicha-Ugbo respectively at this critical time in the nation’s economic history.

He commended her for her thoughtfulness and patriotism as an illustrious daughter who is inspired to share from the little she has, maintaining that God would replenish her purse and by extension the Odika family for having been of immense support to the brotherly and social development of Issele-Uku.

His words, “I am highly pleased by your act of love and kindness, especially to the vulnerable widows. You have continued to supply them with foodstuffs in the past few years, and in spite of the high cost of food items in the market, you still were able to achieve it this year. I pray God to bless you more and continue to give you the spirit, grace and strength to carry on with your ministry of love and reaching the unreached in times like this.

“We will continue to support your effort in any way you deem necessary. This Palace is always for you to use, because what you are doing is for the good of our people. I am indeed pleased because, not everybody can give like this even when they are richly blessed. But you have the heart and the spirit to touch lives in a unique way, God will always strengthen your paths for success”, Obi Nduka prayed.

In her vote of thanks, the Founder of the June Vision and widows’ benefactor, Evangelist June Odika appreciated God for the gift of life and vision to carry out His divine instructions.

She affirmed that what she is doing was a divine command from our Lord Jesus Christ who is the husband and lover of the widows.

“He sent me what I am doing. Irrespective of the stress and high cost of things, I can never complain because He will always supply all my needs.

“I don’t have much to say but to encourage you to keep holding your monthly meetings with your coordinators. Those meetings are vital because of the spiritual implications and other forms of empowerments that come once in a while.

“In spite of whatever happens, please, continue to dwell among yourselves in love through the sharing of the Word of God and gifts. Love is the greatest of virtues expected of us by our Lord Jesus Christ. When you dwell in love you encourage me, and that is what Jesus Christ wants from us.

“I appreciate my awesome and amiable King who has been supportive since inception of this project. I thank all my guests and to you all my dear Widows For Christ, I love you”, Odika professed.

It was a beautiful day for the widows as each went home with a piece of wrapper, a measure of rice, tomatoes, etc, after corporately praying for their benefactor, Evangelist June Odika.

Present at the event were HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka, the Obi of Issele-Uku Kingdom, Pastor Ijeoma Herbert Odika, an Aviation Expert, Pastor Sunday Ikelede, Guest Preacher, Pastor Ejimchukwu Nicodemus, the officiating minister, Chief Innocent Ikpeamanam Nwakpati, the Omeogor of Issele-Uku, Comrade Patrick Ochei, NUJ Delta State Council’s Secretary, Mrs. Ijeoma Odika and others too numerous to mention.
