CNDS Cautions DSP Omo-Agege Against Challenging PMB’s NDDC List At Senate Clearance

The Concerned Niger Delta Stakeholders (CNDS), has admonished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Delta born second in command of Nigeria’s red chamber, against stonewalling President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees’ list of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) governing board, recently transmitted to the senate for clearance.

In a statement available to journalists, the group’s spokesperson, Pere Jackson Zuokmo, disclosed that, this call has become auspicious, in view of Omo-Agege’s preference for the outdated list which had his preferred candidate, Bernard Okumagba, his kinsman as the prospective Managing Director of the interventionist organisation.

The outmoded list was allegedly prepared and ferried to the national legislature for clearance in connivance with the DSP but without Mr. President’s assent.

He further revealed that “the inability of the list to sail through thus, engendered resention on the DSP’s part, which allegedly prompted him to declare that “no list other than his will see the light of the day at the Senate”.

The group expressed fear over the DSP’s habitual insistence on determining membership of the governing board and other agencies where President Muhammadu Buhari would have normally, exercised his constitutional latitude to nominate individuals to such bodies.

Examples of this challenge syndrome are plethora. One that readily comes to mind is the inability of Lauretta Onochie’s clearance to the Independent National Electoral Commission, where partisanship and sundry spurious reasons were advanced to scuttle that process.

He also cited the instance of an interactive parley with APC faithful at Ute-Okpu in Ika North-East, where he was captured on video preening over his yeoman’s attribute that saw to the smooth adoption of the 2022 amended electoral act.”

From the group’s submission, this high ranking senator may not be unconnected with the recent appointment of a junior officer as the interim (Acting) Managing Director of the NDDC by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Okon Umana.

“This reeks of deliberate travesty of Muhammadu Buhari’s directive after the disengagement of the erstwhile interim administrator, Mr. Akwa.

The President had instructed that the most senior director in the commission should be appointed to run the affairs of the interventionist body. Rather, a junior third ranking director, Engineer Emmanuel Audu-Ahwaworua was appointed”, the statement added.

Zuokmo stated that impeccable sources close to senator Omo-Agege disclosed that he (Senator Omo-Agege) is poised to bloody President Buhari’s nose as, he averred that” he (the senator) is believed to have initiated subterranean ploys to stall the clearing process of the nominees except those he fancies, thereby exposing the commission to continual mismanagement and plundering of its revenue.

“The plot is thickening, as he (Agege) has engaged lobbyists including a southern governor to challenge PMB’s list of nominees, because according to him, “PMB has no right to choose for Niger Deltans”, allegedly boasting that “He (the senator) would always have his say and way, because he saved President Muhammadu Buhari from impeachment”.

The (CNDS) therefore, urged Niger-Deltans, to pray against any iota of confrontation to the smooth sail of the NDDC’s governing board list coming after over thirteen months in abeyance.

“Let’s all hope that this imperial senator won’t stagnate President Muhammadu Buhari’s lofty rapid developmental drive for Niger Delta”, the statement affirmed.

By Patrick Ochei

The Editor-in-Chief of the Pointer Newspapers and very senior journalist, Mr. Godfrey Ubaka has described Omu Anioma, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu as a global reference point in issues of image and reputation management, adding that she is such a blessing to Nigeria and the world at large.

He made this assertion when he led an Ex-Police Officer, Mr. Richard Obioma Nnabuogor on a courtesy visit to Omu Anioma’s Palace, where the Ex-Police Officer presented his book – “Discharged Burden: Diary Of A Police Officer”, which is billed for launching on December 10, 2022, to Omu Dunkwu.

According to Ubaka, “We have come to give respect to whom respect is due in this regard. You are widely honoured because of the contributions you have made to human and cultural developments in Anioma, Delta State, Nigeria and Africa at large. This book talks about the image of the Police institution, and from records available to us, you have supported the police immensely, in addition to remaining a paragon in the field of public relations, image making and reputation management.

“We feel you are one of those best suited to dissect and diagnose this book on the day of its presentation, and so we have come to officially invite you as the Royal Mother of the Day/Guest of Honour to help do justice to the public presentation of the book.

“I must reveal that the author indeed, did a clinical x-ray of the image of the Police institution in the book. We have gone ahead as partners, to do a thorough review of the book in the Pointer Newspaper with the title ‘Ex-Police Officer Exposes The Ills Of The Police Institution In Nigeria: A Review’.

“However, we are proud of the image you are creating of Anioma cultural identity. We cannot but acknowledge this immense human accomplishments in our everyday life. And one of such occasions to once again tap from your fountain of knowledge is the day when this book shall be presented to the public with your presence as one of the guests of honour. Thank you for this warm audience Your Majesty”, Mr. Ubaka stated.

Making a presentation of a copy of the book to Omu Dunkwu, the Ex-Police Officer, Mr. Nnabuogor expressed a tiny version of his 35 years experience working with the Nigeria Police Force.

He said the experience was horrible, adding that “I didn’t meet what I expected in the Police. I worked in tears. I wrote three times to retire but I was denied. I was further threatened to be sent to jail if I insisted on resigning my job. I carried on in pain”.

Speaking further, the man said that Police work is a good work but was spoiled by the personnel themselves.

He said, “I entered into the Police Force as a healthy man but the job disfigured me to the extent that I can’t work normally again”.

Responding to their request, Omu Dunkwu appreciated them for their unrestrained eulogies, acknowledging the fact that her modest contributions to humanity had really been widely appreciated by honest people.

She promised to accord them the honour of her presence at the event if it did not clash with other important appointments she had already made commitments to.

Meanwhile, the book launch will hold on Saturday 10th December, 2022, at Chadef Hotel, Asaba.

Ndokwa West PDP Inaugurates Campaign Committee

…..Vows to Win 100 Percent Votes, As Onah Traces Foundational Challenges of Ndokwa Politics

As the 2023 general elections draw closer, the Ndokwa West PDP has inaugurated it campaign committee with a promise to win all elections.

Inaugurating the committee at the party secretariat on Saturday in Kwale, the council headquarters, Engr. Dan Ossai, the Delta State party secretary, maintained that the party has what it takes to achieve overwhelming success in the area.

He tasked the campaign team to unite all party members, adding that “We have a lot to market PDP. We must unite with agreived members and non members of our party.”

While thanking the women of the party for their activeness in politics stressed that PDP is an organised party that believes in women empowerment.

“This is the first time we are having a vice presidential candidate in the person of senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State. Okowa’s administration has committed about N25 billion in Ukwuani LGA alone in building infrastructures, that is for one LGA in Ndokwa so we must work hard for the success of the party.”

The Chairman of the party in the LGA, Chief Lucky Okwuji, who had earlier introduced the members of the campaign committee, reminded the members of the never lost any election in the LGA.

“Elections are won at our homes before the election day. This is the time for the job. APC ‘Association of Poverty Creators’ must never be allowed to get back to power that is why as PDP we must work as a family. Ndokwa has deputy governor in-waiting that is why we must prove our mettle.

Responding on behalf of the campaign committee, Hon. Sam Osasa expressed delights on the confidence repose on them promising to deliver Monday  Onyeme who is the pride of Ndokwa nation.

Osasa who is the Coordinator of the committee urged the party members to work for 100 percent victory at the polls insisted that Atiku and Okowa ticket is the choice of Ndokwa people.

He described the ‘Obedient Movement’ as a complete scam. “We must campaign vigorously because this elections votes must count.”

He however paid tribute to Rear Admirer Mike Onah, the chairman of the Advisory committee for his commitments for the party.

In a remark, the member representing the Ndokwa West constituency at the state assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu said; “Ndokwa West must prove their support during the elections, and we must focus our campaign at wards and units levels.”

On his part, the deputy governorship candidate, Chief Monday Onyeme sued for greater support across board advising party members in the LGA to work as stakeholders in the system.

According to him, the campaign team in Delta North headed by him has instituted cash award ranging from N5 million, N3 million and N1.5 million for first, second and third positions respectively for the highest vote cast among the 98 wards in the senatorial district.

The Chairman of the Advisory committee, Rear Admirer Mike Onahlx decried the poor foundational political challenge that confronted the Ndokwa nation which he traced to the time of the Nigerian Peoples Party NPP and National Council of Nigeria and Cameron NCNC wherein the Ndokwa nation voted for the later spearheaded by Nnamdi Azikiwe even when Zik never had a structure in Ndokwa nation making Ndokwa to be in the opposition.

He warned that the mistake must not be repeated through the ‘Obidient movement’ in Ndokwa because Ndokwa has a lot to gain from the PDP government.

Onah recalled how the former Vice President of Nigeria late Admirer Augustus Aikhomu who after retirement in the navy together, encouraged him into the politics even when he was aversed to it due to the bad character of the average politician in Nigeria.

He declared that any vote for APC and Labour Party will be wasted votes because the parties and their candidates have nothing to offers.

The Commissioner for Housing, Chief Festus Ochonogor noted that with the PDP Vice Presidential candidate and the deputy governorship candidate in the state, members of the party must make sacrifices to succeed.

“The ward’s committee are very important for our party. We have political appointees that will play critical roles for our success so there is no way the ‘Obedient’ should have their ways. In politics there are issues but the ability to resolve them is very important.” He stressed.

An excited Oseji in tow with Nwoko popularly called the Star Prince of Anioma and Delta North PDP chairman,Hon. Moses Iduh, all posed for photographs beaming happily with smiles, a rare tango uncommon in the cloak and dagger politics of Nigeria.

The Abavo encounter signalled unity and oneness for both men, drawing some positive lessons in political differences.

Ned Nwoko accompanied by his Nollywood celebrity wife, Regina Daniels, have for days running , remained the cynosure of all eyes as the famous couple and their entourage of youths, men and women rally from ward to ward, across Delta North propagating PDP in colourful campaigns.

Wike Should Be Expelled From PDP, Ned Nwoko Insists

Delta North Senatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Ned Nwoko, has slammed Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike for allegedly causing confusion in PDP.

Nwoko, who had earlier called for disciplinary action against the governor, accused him of instigating a crisis in the party since he lost the presidential primary ticket to Atiku Abubakar.

Nwoko also accused Wike of wasting huge sums of money belonging to Rivers State to secure the Party’s Vice Presidential nomination, which again failed.

In his reaction, the Rivers State Governor in a statement issued by his Commissioner for Information, Mr Chris Finebone, stated that Nwoko’s persistent attack against him was not unconnected to the $418 million Paris Club refund being claimed by some consultants, including Nwoko, which Wike and some other governors have opposed.

But Ned Nwoko Media Directorate had lambasted Wike for stoking unnecessary confusion in PDP, describing him as a sore loser, embittered by electoral defeat.

The Directorate further urged him to come to reality with the fact that the Presidential primary has come and gone, and that he should let go of the past. The statement further challenged Wike to disclose his source of livelihood outside the political office.

“It is unacceptable for Wike to continue to embarrass PDP with crude and unruly tendencies, attempting to play God. He should stop his recklessness.

“Enough of his unguarded statements. They were unbecoming of a governor. Why is he complaining everywhere because he lost an election?

“Who made him an indispensable leader? Does he know how PDP evolved? His agitations are not genuine but selfish.”

The statement read that Nwoko was engaged by the states from 2005 as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and he began his campaigns (at the High Court in London) for the federal government to stop further deductions from the states and local governments’ allocations and for the excess deductions to be refunded.

He wondered where Wike was at the time, when the likes of former governors, including Bonny Haruna, Orji Uzor Kalu, Peter Obi and Jolly Nyame visited Nwoko’s office in London with their teams? He asked.

Nwoko felt it was an insult for Rivers State Governor to ask what Prince Nwoko does for a living after hugely benefiting from his patriotic efforts.

He further alleged that Wike was not fighting for the South and that he would not have insisted on the removal of the party Chairman if he had been chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate.

Fortune Smiles On Oligbo – Umuseti Community As Happiness Ossai Reconstructs Abandoned Obi Ogwa

Residents of Oligbo -Umuseti in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State were full of joy when a new Ogwa was reconstructed and unveiled for the Obi of Oligbo-Umuseti by one of their illustrious daughter of the soil and a Philanthropist, 0Happiness Ossai.

The permanent reconstructed ultra-modern Ogwa which is situated at the centre of the community was commissioned by Hon. Charles Emetulu, Member Representing Ndokwa West at the Delta State House of Assembly.

The event was historic because the newly reconstructed Ogwa built for the community and the good people of Oligbo- Umuseti has been abandoned for several years before the restructuring took place.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Happiness Ossai, disclosed that she embarked on the charity donation for the love she has for the people of her community.
She recounted the challenges of the community in having a centralized Ogwa for its traditional rulers over the past years due to the fact that it was abandoned.

She said, I came from a humble background where God has done a lot for my family, Charity they say begins at home, so this is my own way of supporting my people.

The newly constructed Ogwa was formally handed over to the Obi of the Community at a ceremony attended by notable politicians members of the community.

Meanwhile, an indigen of Oligbo Umuseti, Mr Emma Opia has commended Happiness for her community development effort in renovating the Ogwa of her Community

He described Ossai as a blessing, not only to the people of her community but also to Ndokwa Nation as a whole.

He said, She has remained the lady with a Midas touch in building her community and setting a standard for others to follow.

While praying to God to grant her good health and strength to carry on with her business, he affirmed that Happiness has continued to perform creditably well despite not being a well known politician.

The Obi also prayed for Happiness, asking God to bless and protect her always.

Wike Must Be Booted Out Of PDP- Ned Nwoko Media

Governor Nyesome  Wike of Rivers state has again come under scathing criticism by antartica/South Pole explorer Prince Ned Nwoko who accused him of  instigating  crisis in PDP since he lost the presidential primary to Atiku Abubakar and the party’s vice presidential nomination despite wasting huge sums of money belonging to Rivers state trying to bribe some party officials. He has impoverished rivers state through wasteful and expensive inordinate ambitions to remain in power.

Earlier this week in an interview with journalists at  Asaba Airport ,Prince Nwoko who is the PDP Delta North senatorial  candidate had called for the expulsion of Wike, labelling him a nuisance.

But the  Rivers state governor,in a statement by his   commissioner for information,Mr Chris Finebone, said Nwoko’s persistent attacks on Wike were connected to the $418 million Paris club refund being claimed by some consultants including Nwoko,  which Wike and some  other governors have opposed.

In a reaction, contained in a statement at Asaba, Ned Nwoko Media directorate, lambasted Wike for stoking unnecessary confusion in PDP.
They described Wike as a  sore loser, embittered by electoral defeat, urging him to come to reality with the fact that the presidential primary has come and gone. The team tasked him “to disclose his political pedigree, other than a shameless latter – day opportunist who got power by the  patronage of a godfather in 2015”

The statement further challenged Wike:

“Let Wike name his source of livelihood outside political office ,obtained through rascality and dubious tactics. It is unfortunate that a failed obscure lawyer as timid as a local goat had been posturing in recent times with false airs of an emperor, insulting those far better than him in education and exposure.

“It is unacceptable for Wike to continue to embarrass PDP with  crude, unruly and bellicose tendencies  attempting to play God. Wike is a bad- tempered trouble monger. He should stop his recklessness .  Enough of his unguarded statements, unbecoming of a governor. Why is he crying everywhere because he lost an election? Who made him an indispensable leader?  Does he know how PDP evolved?   His agitations are not genuine but selfish.

” He spoke dishonesty  about the London- Paris club refund. He should be grateful. But for the initiative of Prince Ned Nwoko when Wike was struggling to be a local government chairman the over 60 billion Naira he collected as  Rivers state’s share from the Paris club refund  would not have been possible.

“When Ned Nwoko was engaged by the states from 2005 as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and he began his campaigns (at the High Court in London) for the federal government to stop further deductions from the states and local governments allocations and for the excess deductions to be refunded, where was Wike.? He was totally and completely out of his depths, inconsequential and will still be after the elections. Where was he when the likes of governors Bonny Haruna, Orji Kalu, peter obi,Jolly Nyame visited Ned Nwoko’s office in london with their teams.
Is it not an insult and stupidity to ask what Prince Ned nwoko does for a living after hugely benefiting from his patriotic efforts.
Is it not a grave irresponsibility for Wike to open his mouth and suggest that he is one of those stopping Ned Nwoko’s payments after receiving huge refunds from the Paris Club refunds? What kind of lawyer is Wike? A lawyer lacking in law and common sense. Is it not nonsensical to talk carelessly about payment of Paris Club refunds after credible investigating agencies like EFCC and ICPC have cleared Ned Nwoko’s claims as genuine? A payment the presidency as the highest authority in the land has since given approval?”

” Sadly , the Rivers state governor squandered the Paris club refund ,that accrued to the state, diverted the entitlements that ought to have been paid the local governments ,for self gratification. How did he utilize the money? He mismanaged it.Even the money for the councils. Instead, Wike is gallivanting around the world wasting Rivers state’s  money chasing shadows and in the process 25 innocent kids died in the state hospital because of lack of electricity in the hospital. In a civilized society,Wike should have resigned.Indeed he would  be prosecuted for the deaths of these innocent kids. This is unpardonable criminal negligence, yet a power -hungry  governor like Wike is  busy looking for another political office to continue pillaging public resources while his people suffer.

Wike is not fighting for the south. He is greedy. If he was chosen as the VP as he desperately wanted, would he have been complaining that the PDP national chairman, Ayu should go? Certainly not.

Those who got into offices through fraudulent politics must be cautious in exercising transient  authority.
