….Former Oleh Community President General, Chief Believe Alakri Should Emulate Oborevwori – Igelige

“The true character of a man is revealed when he occupy Any Juicy office.”

For the past three weeks or more, Oleh Community is bedeviled by several leadership infractions occasioned by the former President General, Chief Believe Alakri’s, willful neglect and apparent breach of the Community Constitution as well as Delta State Community Development Association Law 2021, with special reference to the Oleh Annual General Conference.

The matter had taken a new twist in that it has been politicized by those who ordinarily ought to be father of decency and transparency. It is sad to note that the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, had been made to believe that the seemingly unavoidable intra leadership issue in Oleh is a fight between Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) or Grace Mission.

Your Excellency, it is in the public domain that when you were Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), you severally and voluntarily rendered account of stewardship to the Hallowed Chambers, wherein you returned a huge N532million naira to the State treasury, and leaving hundreds of millions in the Assembly coffers for the incoming Speaker and members to hit the ground running. It means, you rightly opined that public coffers should not run dry in a bleak economy. Surely, you deserve a sumptuous commendation on the account that you have shown good requisite example in the area on discourse for OLEH FORMER PRESIDENT GENERAL, CHIEF BELIEVE ALAKRI TO EMULATE. Your Excellency, I do not think Oleh people are asking for too much by requesting that transparency and accountability should be the hallmark of the former President General, or for the right thing to be done.

Moreso, your Excellency, I am aware that you presided over a bill, now a law on transparency and accountability while you were still Speaker of the House. In that law, public servants and civil servants in Delta were required to render account or risk going to #jail. Sir, I know you will not be happy if any President General in Osubi Community or Okpe refused to render an account after five (5) years in office. The governor we know cannot tolerate the daylight misappropriation of several millions of naira that came in tranches from the multinational oil companies in Oleh.

“It is worrisome and abysmal failure of few PDP leaders who could not win their units go to the governor and twist issues that the fight in Oleh is between Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) or Grace Mission to whip sentiments, get support from the governor whose hands are clean. Fortunately, during the election period, Engr. Dr. Daniel Elozino Omoyibo, aka Danmotech outrightly told the governor that he would vote 3/5, yet the governor visited him for consultation and he did mobilized en masse for him.

Most importantly, it is a well established fact that the highest number of votes recorded in Oleh ward 1 and 2 in the governor’s election, were through the giant effort of Danmotech. He mobilized massive votes and resources for the governor and I stand to be corrected. On that ground, Oleh leadership matter cannot be said to be having party coloration, therefore, cajoling or twisting stories before Mr. Governor to accept what’s non-existent, that issues in Oleh is PDP versus SDP or APC is chiefly anchored on selfish interest.

Candidly, the grounds at which the Court order was granted are salient and legally impeccable having breached Oleh Community Constitution and Delta State Community Development Law 2021. Unfortunately, the the tenure of the man behind the veil, Chief Believe Alakri, expired 28th December, 2023, and his insistence to plant a surrogate as President General of Oleh Community, who shall cover his misappropriation is unacceptable. We appeal to the Governor to be weary of such people who are initiators of disunity and crisis, so as not to mortgage his image.

In conclusion, it is unfortunate to say that the symphony of multiple lies and the rumour onslaught against Danmotech and Oleh people is a falsehood sponsored from the pit of hell. The likes of #Danmotech are rare and we love him as a people. Rendering an account in Oleh as a President General is a tradition and part of our constitution. This sinister actions of the political appointees, those having passion for divisive perceptions, sponsoring unfounded blackmail, polishing and politicizing the Oleh Community cultural leadership infractions, are all tactics to shy away from rendering 5years account of stewardship. They are not helping the governor but rather smearing his image and the party.

“It will be a miscarriage of transparency/accountability if the State law passed by our governor is deliberately jettisoned sake for a party man and/or coloration. We respectfully appeal that Chief Believe Alakri should be compelled to render an account of hundreds of millions spent. This is the problem fast destroying the fabrics that holds us together. As the Governor of Delta State, you are like a father to everyone and should listen to us meritoriously without being bias. #On this note, we appeal to His Excellency, Rt. Hon., Sheriff Oborevwori, that as a man of principles, he should discountenance the blackmail, busybody exercise or deceit of party coloration and keep to his transparent MANTRA, so as not to drag his name through the mud.

We must define the future, stop all insubordination and Oleh Community shall be great again.

Chief Dr. Jubilant Igelige, JP.
#Former Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development.
#The Udueni of Oleh kingdom.
