The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has declared open the first NCPC annual general staff training program under his leadership.

At the opening ceremony of the event on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja, the Executive Secretary emphasized that training and retraining of staff is very strategic as it is a fundamental policy of government duly budgeted for aimed at improving on the productivity of staff members.

He explained that the training was made possible because of the prudent spending of the scarce resources available to the Commission which has made the leadership to cultivate the culture of saving in order to achieve the Commission’s set goals.

He maintained that the training is essentially meant to help improve the work of the staff so that according to him, “we can maximise our output”.

The NCPC boss affirmed that he believes strongly in team spirit and this has reflected in the character of his leadership in NCPC.
He admonished staff to embrace God in everything they do. In his words, “the number one thing you need in this training is God Almighty”.

He urged them never to rest on their oars and should always aspire to acquire more knowledge because ” everyone of us is a potential leader”.

The NCPC helmsman also stated that under his watch, the Commission had enthroned an efficient system of division of labour, especially as it applies to the zonal offices where they have been empowered to effectively supervise their respective zones, rather than being at the mercy of the headquarters.

He stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure a hitch free pilgrimage operation in the Commission’s upcoming pilgrimage exercise which he assured would be one of the best ever in the history of NCPC.

The NCPC annual training program is slated to last for one week from 19th to 23rd August, 2024 and is expected to run simultaneously in all the six Geo- Political zones where the six zonal offices of the Commission are situated.
The Abuja training centre comprises headquarters staff and staff of the North Central zonal office.
