The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam was conferred with Excellent Leadership award by the Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association Of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere on 26th July, 2023 during a courtesy visit on the NCPC boss at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

The Executive Secretary Commended the executives of the Youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the award and for the effective coordination of the activities of the Association and inter-faith engagement.

According to him, “ I am proud of what the leadership of the Youth Wing of  CAN is doing, especially in reaching out to our brothers in government.

In the words of the NCPC boss, “If we build our faith in God we will surely succeed in building our faith in the Country”.

Rev. Pam averred that the large number of Christians in Nigeria are the youth. He stressed that he had successfully bridged the gap between the Commission and the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) through robust synergy and engagement.

He hinted that the Commission was still planning to put together a Youth Pilgrimage Programme in the nearest future and would come up with the best way to implement it.

He called on the youths to engage in productive ventures rather than wasting their youthful energy on irresponsible things so that they would not fall prey to the hands of desperate and disgruntled elements in the society.

He thanked the YOWICAN executives for considering him worthy to launch their first ever brand new uniform since the inception of the Body.

Rev. Pam further affirmed that Christians should rise to own the Commission rather than depending solely on Government.

Speaking earlier, the YOWICAN Chairman, Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere thanked the NCPC boss for his support for the Association over the years hence the award.

According to the Chairman of YOWICAN, We have decided to give you this award because of your sterling leadership qualities which you have brought to bear in the Commission. He explained that since his assumption of office in 2020 as the Executive Secretary of the Commission, he had been able to move the Commission to greater heights.

He told the Executive Secretary that he was the first to unveil the association’s first ever brand new uniform because he had solidly stood by them. He explained that the idea of the uniform was borne out of the need to create a visible identity for members of the association. He described the NCPC boss “as a man who believes in humanity and who believes tenaciously that the Young shall grow”.
