…Says Their Patriotic Spirit Aligns With Idea Of Sports University.

The founder of Sports university, Idumuje -Ugboko, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has congratulated the Nigerian athletics team for winning gold in the women’s 4 x 100 relay race at the commonwealth games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The quartet of Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha displayed exceptional class to clinch gold at the relay event on Sunday with a time of 42.10 seconds, setting African record.

In a congratulatory message, Prince Nwoko said the Nigerian female team, inspired by World and Commonwealth Games champion, Tobi Amusan have made the nation proud in gallantry.

He said the victory represented an unforgettable season of glory for Nigeria,coming just after Amusan successfully defended her commonwealth title in the women’s 100m hurdles final and her wonderful showing at the World Athletics Championship in the United States, where she became the first Nigerian athlete to win gold at the global sporting event.

Nwoko also praised Delta – born Ese Brume for emerging champion with gold medal in the long jump category at the Commonwealth Games after leaping to record – breaking victory.

He further commended the men’s team who finished behind England to win silver in the final of the 4x100m relay,expressing satisfaction that they made patriotic efforts.

“ I happily commend Tobi, Ese and the rest female athletes for their excellent victories. From United States to England ,they have continued to bring pride and glory to our Nation. I also thank the men for their resilience. I congratulate all.Their patriotism,inspiration and collective sporting spirit displayed,align with the key ideals behind the establishment of the sports university,set to groom world class sports men and women” Nwoko stated.
