In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and respect, Senator Ned Nwoko, Senator Godswill Akpabio with other distinguished Senators visited the family of the late Former President Muhammadu Buhari to offer their condolences following his recent passing.
Senator Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Akpabio, the current Senate President and their colleagues arrived at the family residence on Wednesday 16th July, 2025 where they were received by family members, friends, and associates of the late President. The atmosphere was sober as the senators expressed their profound sadness over the loss of a leader who dedicated his life to the service of the nation.
During the visit, Senator Nwoko remarked, “President Buhari was a leader who rose to the challenges of our time, showing unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development. His legacy of integrity and service will be remembered long into the future.” He extended his deepest sympathies on behalf of his constituency and the Nigerian people, acknowledging the significant impact President Buhari had on the nation during his time in office.
Senator Akpabio shared his sentiments, stating, “the late President was not just a politician; he was a father figure to many. His contributions to our democracy and governance will always be cherished. I encourage the family to find strength in the legacy he left behind and the love of those who stand with them during this difficult time.”
The Senators were also at the residence of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, to condole with him and the good People of the Emirate on the demise of a great Leader.
In honoring President Buhari’s memory, Senator Nwoko and Senator Akpabio urged all Nigerians to come together in a spirit of peace and cooperation, reflecting the vision for a united and prosperous Nigeria that the former leader always exhibit.
