The Niger Delta Youth Movement has commended President of the Senate of Nigeria, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, for his support and uncommon bravery during its just concluded election that held on January 22, 2024 in Omoku, Rivers State.
In an appreciation letter signed by its president, Major Ekene Frank, the group thanked Senator Akpabio for his love and fatherly support all through the election. Members of Niger Delta Youth Movement also prayed God to grant the distinguished Senator peace of mind, wisdom, protection and the understanding to make the right decisions always as the Chairman of Nigeria’s National Assembly and the number one legislator in Nigeria.
“I, Major Ekene Frank, President of Niger Delta Youth Movement writes on behalf of the newly elected Executives and the entire members of the Niger Delta Youth Movement to express our utmost gratitude to our distinguished Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio for his immeasurable support and guidance leading to the successful conduct of the just concluded election of the association held on Monday January 22, 2024 in Omoku, Rivers State, Nigeria.
The election which was conducted in an atmosphere devoid of rancour and bitterness, was adjudged free and fair, saw our victory at the poll and subsequently sworn in as the new leaders of the association.
We thank God Almighty for His grace and for Senator Godswill Akpabio’s commitment to democratic ideals that have distinguished him and punctuated both his private and public life. We are grateful that our distinguished Senator Akpabio who in his wisdom thought it wise to send some reputable Nigerians as observers to monitor the election as independent observers. No doubt, their presence added credibility and ensured transparency of the election. Notable among these distinguished personalities who served as independent election observers include; HRM. Eze Ali Usomiri of Ogbaland, Eze A.N Osor and Hon. Vincent Job, DSSRS (JP), Executive Chairman of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area among other stakeholders.
On our part we pledged to remain focussed in our resolve to continue to be responsible citizens and agent of change. We shall not betray our people in the struggle to make Niger Delta and Nigeria a good habitation and a peaceful destination for investments and tourism”.
Frank who is leading a team of tested executive members also pledged that members of his association will remain responsible and law-abiding as their tenure begins.
