The Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. High Chief Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, led a delegation of Council Executives, Councillors, and leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to pay their respects and congratulate Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge on his installation as the 14th Asagba of Ahaba.
During the visit, Hon. Ezenyili reaffirmed his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Oshimili South. He emphasized that his second term as Chairman would be dedicated to continuing the developmental projects across all communities in the Local Government Area.
Ezenyili expressed that the Asagba’s enthronement is a significant development for the state capital. He congratulated the monarch, praising his ability to foster peace and drive growth in Oshimili South, stating that his influence extends beyond the local government.
In his remarks, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, encouraged Hon. Ezenyili to lead with justice and fairness. He emphasized the importance of impartiality in governance, advising Ezenyili to remain fair and just in all his actions. The monarch assured the Chairman of his support in resolving any challenges, urging him to avoid any form of discrimination.
The Asagba also lauded Ezenyili’s technical expertise and expressed confidence in his ability to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots. He called for more development in Oshimili South, stating that his reign would be joyful and successful if the Chairman ensured good governance for the people. The monarch challenged Ezenyili to achieve more, especially with increased federal allocations, as the expectations for his tenure are high.
Earlier in the visit, the Oshimili South PDP Chairman, Hon. Chukwunwike Ifesiokwu, highlighted that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Asagba on his ascension to the throne. He spoke on behalf of the political class and management of the council, commending the monarch’s leadership and vision for Asaba.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a congratulatory letter to the Asagba.
Among the notable attendees were Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, the immediate past PDP Chairman of Oshimili South; Hon. Chinye Hobobo-Uso, Leader of the Legislative Arm; Hon. Henry Enebeli, Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Michael Okonji; Mrs. Omoghene Chidimma, Head of Personnel Management; and a host of councilors, supervisory councilors, and heads of departments from the local government.
