The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon.Elder Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the constitution of the 2024 Flood Disaster Management Committee.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr Kingsley Eze Emu, the composition of the committee has Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu as Chairman and the Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Terry Etacherure as the Co-Chairman.
Member of the committee are, Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ejiro Tommy Jamani; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme; Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu; Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu; Commissioner, Humanitarian Affairs, Social and Girl Child Development, Orode Meyiwa Uduaghan; Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ifeanyi Osuoza; Commissioner, Culture & Tourism, Hon. Darlington Ijeh; Member
Director General, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Patrick Ukah; Director General, Warri Uvwie & Environs Development Agency, Prince Godwin Ejinyere-Member; Special Adviser on Community Enterprises Development, Hon. The Terms of Reference of the Committee include, to propose appropriate measures for the prevention and management of flooding, address displacement of people and suggest ways for provision of relief materials to victims; and to advise His Excellency, the Governor on measures to achieve the above subject.
