The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, on Friday 13 February 2026, officially inaugurated a series of developmental projects across DESIEC Wards 11, 12, and 13 in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
The commissioning ceremony covered Ward 11 (Kokori), Ward 12 (Egbogho), and Ward 13 (Samagidi), marking another milestone in the council’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
The projects were facilitated and executed by the respective councillors:
Hon. Oghoghorie Oghenevwede – DESIEC Ward 11 (Kokori) four (4) mono -pump bore hole water
Hon. Emojeya Emmanuel, Leader of the Ethiope East Legislative Arm – DESIEC Ward 12 (Egbogho) solar powered water system project
Hon. Irerhime Ohwesiri – DESIEC Ward 13 (Samagidi) four mono-pump bore hole water project
In their separate remarks, the honourable councilors expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his visionary and all-inclusive leadership style, which they noted created the enabling environment for the successful execution of the projects. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy to their constituents.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogedegbe applauded the councillors for judiciously utilizing the opportunity and resources made available to them to impact their communities positively. He emphasized that the projects reflect the council’s dedication to equitable development across all wards in the local government area.
The Chairman further called on host communities to take ownership of the projects by ensuring their proper use and maintenance. He urged residents to safeguard all government facilities within their communities, stressing that protecting public infrastructure is a collective responsibility.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of community leaders, party faithful, stakeholders, and enthusiastic residents who commended the council Chairman for its continued efforts toward sustainable development in Ethiope East.
