In continuation of the ongoing inauguration of desiec wards Projects across Ethiope East Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, on Monday, 16 February 2026, officially commissioned a series of developmental projects in desiec Wards 15 and 16, Eku.
The projects were facilitated and executed by the respective councillors:
Hon. Jocelyn Edewor – Desiec ward 15 (Eku): Installation of fifteen (15) solar-powered streetlights and construction of two (2) mono-pump borehole water projects.
Hon. Iggue Oghenero – Desiec ward 16 (Eku): Solar-powered water project and construction of two (2) mono-pump borehole water projects.
In their separate remarks, the councillors expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman for his visionary and inclusive leadership style, which they noted created an enabling environment for the successful execution of the projects. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering more democratic dividends to their constituents.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogedegbe commended the councillors for judiciously utilizing the opportunity and resources made available to them to positively impact their communities. He emphasized that the projects reflect the Council’s commitment to equitable and sustainable development across all wards within the Local Government Area.
The Chairman further called on the host communities to take ownership of the projects by ensuring proper use and maintenance. He urged residents to safeguard government facilities in their communities, stressing that the protection of public infrastructure is a collective responsibility.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by community leaders, party faithful, stakeholders, and enthusiastic residents who commended the Council Chairman for his continued efforts toward sustainable development in Ethiope East.
