The Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe JP,  today, February 12, 2026, received the newly Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel N. P. Ochasi, on a courtesy visit to his office in Isiokolo.

The visit signaled the commencement of strengthened collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Ethiope East Local Government Council, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of partnership in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit, Lt. Col. Ochasi stated that he was in the council to familiarize himself with the local authority as part of his assumption of duty. He expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and reiterated the commitment of the 181 Amphibious Battalion to maintaining law and order within the area. He further emphasized the need for sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, and community support to enhance operational effectiveness.

In his remarks, Hon. Ogedegbe warmly welcomed the new Commanding Officer to Ethiope East and assured him of the Council’s readiness to work closely with the battalion to sustain peace and strengthen security operations. He noted that security remains a top priority of his administration and stressed that effective collaboration between civil authorities and security agencies is vital for sustainable development.

The meeting underscored a shared resolve to foster a safer and more secure environment for the residents of Ethiope East Local Government Area through strategic partnership and proactive engagement.
