…As Bina E. Gas, Oil Ltd Launches Propane Auto Gas Plant In Asaba
Chief Executive Officer of Bina E. Gas and Oil Limited, Mr Alex Okunbor has called on governors in the south south to key into petrol exploration and gas processing so as to improve the livelihood of the masses
Speaking to Journalists during the ground breaking ceremony at the Gas plant in Asaba, Okunbor said conversion of automobiles from fuel to gas energy source would help the save cost and maintenance for vehicle owners.
According to him, the initiative was to help ameliorating the poor economy impact caused ad a result of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
He commended the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for supporting the initiative.
While speaking on the benefit of the conversion, he said it can be alternated from fuel to gas using a button switch.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebey University, Asaba, Prof. Ben Emukufia Akpoyomare Oghojafor, who was represented by Prof. Chukwuji Christopher, commended Okunbor for the initiative.
He said the plant which was the first of it’s kind in the state, would provide Deltans ease access to convert their vehicles and other machineries to gas.
Oghojafor, advised Deltans to embrace the technology as an alternative to fuel and diesel energy source describing it as safe environmental friendly and cost effective.
Speaking on the conversion process, resource person of the company, Engr Mustapha Abubakar Gajibo assured the consumers of safety of the technology.
Gajibo said propane autogas burns cleaner than petrol and with less harmful exhaust emissions which is better for the vehicle engine and for the air we all breathe adding that many countries around the world have turned to gas as alternative energy source.
According to him 98 percent of propane was Nigerian-made, so switching to propane auto gas will reduce their dependence on petrol and foreign oil, adding that it gives you the longest driving range of any alternative fuel available.
Gajibo also pointed out that vehicles converted can still run on fuel or diesel, adding that it only entails switching to any available energy source at anytime.
He said Deltans, need not to go to Nnewi, Lagos or elsewhere to convert our automobiles and other machineries to propane gas energy source, as the technology was right in their state.
Highlight of the event was the conversion of some tricycles to Auto gas tricycles, which were also test run by the tricycle riders with so much joy.
