The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme has called for a massive vote from the people of Ndokwa West for all candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming local government election.
Onyeme made the call during the flag off of the PDP campaign at Kwale, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
He urged on the people to vote for Chief Obi Nzete as Chairman and all other Councillorship candidates of PDP in order to enhance continuity of the dividends of democracy.
He said the Party was expecting nothing below a hundred percent vote from the people of Ndokwa West.
He said the area was predominantly PDP and urged the people to continue to identify with the party in order to benefit from the policies and programmes of the present administration in terms of practical development and empowerment.
The Deputy Governor commended the people for their unalloyed support to the PDP over the years adding that Ndokwa West would enjoy more dividends of democracy with the party at the grass root.
Presenting the Party flag to the Chairmanship candidate, Chief Obi Nzete, the State PDP Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, said the party had what it takes to win the council election having given a good account of itself in the governance the state.
He called on al eligible voters to come out en masse to vote for party’s candidates as chairman and councillors.
The Director General of the Campaign Team for Ndokwa West Local Government Area and Executive Secretary of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Barrister Sam Osasa, said the party had embarked on a vigorous campaign to all the units and wards to garner support from the people.
The Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, the State PDP Secretary, Engineer Dan Ossai,the member representing Ndokwa Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, the member representing Ndokwa West in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu and the Commissioner for Urban Development, Engr Mike Anoka commended the people for their support to the party.
They promised that the PDP would not disappoint the people adding that it would use the July 13 Council poll to prove its dominance in the area.
The PDP rally which attracted notable politicians from Ndokwa West and other parts of the state was a carnival of sorts with the visible presence of a mammoth crowd.
