Delta State governor and Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa has said the Party was set to take charge over the affairs of Nigeria,
Okowa disclosed this while addressing Journalists shortly after casting his vote at EC30 A polling station unit 017, Eghoma Primary School, in Ika North East.
He said working in a united manner with Nigerians, both the private and public sectors, they would be able to tackle all the issues of insecurity, poor economy the masses were suffering from.
The governor and Vice Presidential candidate of PDP, said the restructuring of the country, the educational sector and the fact that they need to create jobs, devour powers to every part of the country and ensure that states have more funds, would be their key goals adding that they were confident in what they do.
He added that the PDP was poised to bring out a new Nigeria that the masses can be proud of.
Frowning at the present situation of the country, Okowa said, Nigeria was not working the was it ought to work.
While thanking God for the peaceful election, he thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and the President, Mohammed Buhari, for ensuring that there was fairness in the election.
“ The election is going on peacefully and I hoped that the security agencies are able to police the election peacefully”, he said.
While responding to questions on competition in the election, he said, democracy was all about competition, fairness and equity, adding that the more the Parties as long as they are competing favourably the better.
Speaking on the recent audio that went viral, he said it was unfortunate that some people could go this dirty just to blackmail others.
