The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and his successor, the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara were at the presidential Villa, Abuja , earlier today.
The meeting came 24 hours after crisis erupted in River State over attempts by the state House of Assembly to impeach the governor which polarized the assembly suspensions and impeachment notices on both sides.
Prior to the meeting, there had been reports of attack by unknown individuals who threw explosive leading to a fire outbreak at the House of Assembly complex in Port Harcourt on Sunday night.
Some members of the Assembly, led by the now sacked Speaker sat and resolved to commence an impeachment proceeding against Fubara and also suspended the leader of the Assembly and other lawmakers who were loyal to the governor.
