The 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, led by the Senate President, His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio, alongside distinguished senators including Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, paid a condolence visit to the family of Senator Okechukwu Ezea of Enugu North Senatorial District.

In his remarks, the Senate President expressed deep sorrow over the painful loss, noting that only two weeks ago, the Senate also mourned the tragic passing of the son of Senator Abamoro. He emphasized that it is never a pleasant moment when the Senate gathers not for celebrations or joyful events, but to mourn the death of a loved one.

Addressing Mrs. Ezea and the entire family, the Senate President stated:

“This is the 10th Senate, and it is rare for us to have this number of senators gathered at once. But it has pleased God to bring us here today to stand with you. You are not alone. Your husband was a man of peace one who related with his colleagues with dignity, honour, and respect.”

He further acknowledged the challenges and adversities of the world, praying that God grants the family the strength to bear this great loss.

Speaking also during the visit, Senator Ned Munir Nwoko extended his heartfelt condolences, describing the late Senator as a humble, gentle, and principled leader whose contributions to national unity and peace remain commendable.

On behalf of the 10th Senate, the delegation prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
