Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Environment, Dr. Mrs Mininnie Oseji has advised Deltans to desist from littering plastics in their environment.

Oseji gave the advise during an inspection visit with staff of the ministry to some flash points in Asaba, the state capital.

She urged them to help the government in the campaign on “Solution To Plastic Pollution”, which according to her was the theme of the year’s World Environment Day.

She admonished them to stop polluting the drainage with plastics, as it could lead to blockage of the drains and natural waterway.

While inspecting the evacuating plastic waste from the drains at Koka by Ibusa road, Dr Oseji and her team also participated by picking plastic bottles to create awareness on how to bag waste, separate plastic waste from sold waste for proper recycling of the plastic and disposal of waste.
