Youths in Delta State have been advised to stay calm and key into the agenda of the state governor, Rt Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori.
The state Commissioner for Youths Development, Barr Thankgod Harry Trakiriowei gave the advise today during a broadcast on the occasion of the International Youth’s Day at his office in Asaba.
He said, the MORE agenda of the governor was not just a policy framework but a bold declaration of his aspiration for a better, brighter Delta.
He assured Deltans of the ministry’s open door policy, adding that youths should be expectant of the dividend of democracy via empowerment that will run through the 25 LGAs, as the return of RYSA and STEP was about to start.
According to him, the governor had impacted upon the lives of many Deltans, reason why there was so much peace in the state, despite the violence that took place across the country during the last protest.
The Commissioner called on youths in the state to engage in meaningful use of digital clicks like the social media and online communities in birthing a brighter Delta.
He said “digital clicks such as social media and online communities allows young people to share innovative solutions to pressing issues and developing tech wise solutions”.
According to him the theme of the annual youth celebration day, from clicks to progress: youth digital pathway for sustainable development gives them the opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young voices, action and initiatives.
He said the year’s theme has its background on digital clicks towards achieving sustainable development goals.
In commemoration of the annual celebration, the Commissioner said that the ministry will be having a physical fitness walk and a conference to mark this year’s theme.
